Opening the office door without knocking was a norm, as normal as it gets for the kids when in the Sawyer Firm building.Seeing a mop of hair and thinking it was Bishop, Theodosia immediately called out;
'Hey daddy, whatcha doing?'
'Anything you want us doing baby'
Of course, it was going to be Ian and not dad.
'Where's dad?' ,she asked in response. She was really getting tired of Ian's flirting, even though they were horrible at best.
'Now now sugar, you don't do a dude that way. Not even a hi? Hello?'
'Hello Ian, now where's dad?'
'Too cold. How about you add a little bit.....'
The door opened to reveal Bishop.
'Hi baby, how are you? Ian get out of my seat!', he said while hugging Theodosia.
'I'm good, the internship is going crazy and I'm loving it', she smiled her megawatt smile. Ian could imprint that image and die a happy man.
'Even she gets more love than me', he muttered immediately gaining a look from Bishop. Before he could leave the said seat, Chris walks in.
'Hello Theo, you look well' Theo was immediately engulfed in a hug by Chris. She truly loved this woman, her hugs were just the best.
'Why are you not in school Ian?', she turned to face her child who was desperately trying to disappear into thin air.
'Well, today is technically a lecture free day. So you know, no lectures equals no school', his fingers were crossed.
If nothing, Chris made it her business to know all of her kids schedules. Especially those under her roof.
'So Matt is having a lecture free day in marketing class as well?', sarcasm was thick in the air and Ian knew it was time to run.
'You know what? Now that you mentioned it, I think I'll go see what marketing class Matt talked about this morning. See ya!!,' and took off before anyone could comment.
'You really need to teach me how you do that. Maybe that way I can keep Jeremy long in a class to finally pick a major. He keeps switching them that he's giving me a headache!',
Bishop laughed as he got comfortable on his seat and pulled out the plans for her to look over. While Chris went about her business.
As they poured over the plans, Theodosia picked out some errors she called rookie errors and four hours later the said site was completely toured.
'I think this will work, just don't let them use anything other than what I recommended. That area is swampy at its best'
'Yea, Chris will ensure that happens. I've really missed you kid'
'Me too, but Australia is really beautiful. Thank you for that',
'Hey, you asked and it was doable so why not?'
'I know dad, just thank you. I mean it',
'You're welcome and I mean that as well', he smiled as she rolled her eyes.
She was truly grateful. Not only had he taken her and her brother out of that place. But he had adopted them and became their father in the real sense of it.
Heck she really had to remind herself sometimes that she was adopted.
He got them into the same schools as his kids, when they were off to college he let them choose wherever. And sponsored all their trips and whatnots.
Smiling at him she presented him with an Aboriginal art. She took it upon herself to always get him one whenever she was in Sydney.
He inturn placed them at strategic places in his home, saying that once the Sawyer mansion had had enough he would start adding them to the offices.
'Oh this is pretty', he smiled in appreciation. He placed it on his desk awaiting it's hanging.
This was the 4th one she was bringing home since she moved to Australia.
'So how long are you staying?',
'Two weeks, well until Jeremy does something that requires him escaping mum. But two weeks is what I have to be out of work',
'Ok then, let's make the most of it. Chris should be needing help in the kitchen'
'On it'.
