Years later
The music was deafening but she would have it no other way. It helped her focus better on the punching bag that was receiving the beating of a life time.
She had been at it for the past twenty minutes, but she wasn't feeling any better.
She still wanted to beat the baby-jesus out of Jeremy.
The idiot stole her convertible and crashed it yesterday. He claimed it was a mistake but Theo couldn't care less.
She was thankful he wasn't injured because it'll be an all time low hitting an injured person.
The bag took up the shape of his head once more and she hit it hard.
Of course Dad had stepped in and called her after the accident promising to get her a new one, and she promised not to ship Jeremy back in a body bag.
The new one was coming in tomorrow and she told Jeremy that if his shadow got close to this one she would bury him in her back yard, if she had one.
He never knew how to keep anything in pristine condition.
He turned his Jeep into a dump and now was borrowing her car to impress the girls.
Well as far as she was concerned, if he got any of them pregnant he would marry her at gun point if the need arises.
She could care less.
The boy was giving her a headache.
Hearing her door bell go off, she turned down the music and pulled on a top over her sports bra and shorts.
At the age of twenty six she still could be misplaced as a teenager.
No thanks to her 4'11 frame and size 2 body. Heck she had tried gaining weight but it didn't seem to stick as she loved sports.
So she had made peace with her stature. Even when James teased her and called her a midget a ton of times.
James, he really was the dream big brother. Except of course when he was teasing her.
Opening the door she was greeted by Matt?
'Hi T, sorry to just badge in. We were in the area and thought why not?'
'We?',
'Oh, Ian is coming with more bags. I drove so he unpacks the truck's
She stepped out of his way for him to come in. Then she saw Ian.
He looked taller than she could remember and he was handsomer . Is that a word?
He nodded in greeting as he too came in. Shutting the door behind her, she walked towards her gym.
'Find a room to get comfortable in. I think there's something edible in that kitchen. Or you could order in. Phone numbers are also in the kitchen!!', she said as she walked.
As if as a hind thought she said, 'Please don't burn anything. It's going to take dad literally being here to separate my hands from your throat', then she closed the door.
Matt started laughing.
'Whats funny?', Ian asked as he took the stairs leading to the bedrooms.
'Its funny how she thinks she's scary. Adorable is more like it',
'Yea well talk like that gets her little hands around your neck faster. Come remove your stuff from my room duffus',
'You were supposed to move them to mine not yours' he said from the room door.
'Want me to give you a bath as well? Or maybe make you breakfast in bed while at it', he threw a bag at Matt which he caught effortlessly but not without calling Ian a punk.
Not bothering to give him an answer, Ian set about fixing his self appointed room for the few days they were bound to stay at Theo's penthouse.
Somethings never do change.
His crush on his adopted sister had grown over the years, but it wasn't right.
The literally grew up together with Theo always a class or two above them. She was mighty smart.
They both took AP classes while in highschool, but she started first so she finished first.
College was a breeze for her as well. Graduated as valedictorian and now she was heading one of their companies in Australia.
His attraction if nothing grew, that now he had to deliberately avoid her.
Coming here had been Matt's idea. Heck he would have just flown back to New York when they were done with their assignments.
But silly Matt wanted to see Theo.
Now here they were. And she opens the door wearing a see through shirt that leaves nothing to the imagination.
He really needed a break.
Poor Ian!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
