It had been plain torture for him ever since the thanksgiving service for dad.
Especially with mum and Matt ribbing him about Theo.
With Matt it was so much worse as he too poked at him till he grew the balls to ask Greta out.
Well, now it was his turn. And he can safely tell you that it's no fun.
Matt even went ahead to call him a crappy therapist who couldn't take his own advice.
And mum, mum in her own loving and calm her had called him a knuckle head. Or at least implied it.
Finally having enough he went to his dad who simply smiled at him and called him an idiot after he laid his complains.
Somehow, every single person seemed to forget that they grew up together!! And it was weird having such feelings for your sister howbeit adopted.
But hold on a second, he was being hipocritical.
For so long he had loathed them being addressed as siblings, now all of a sudden he was acknowledging that they were?
Everyone was right, he was being a wuss. And dad was right for calling him an idiot.
He couldn't believe that she even went ahead and offered herself, and like the idiot he was he pushed her away.
One thing he did know was that he had hurt her pride. And that would take a while to heal up. But he could start right now.
With those thoughts he drove down to her office.
A bit surprised by the untidiness he saw because of the way the people on the ground floor were moving like headless chickens. He simply walked by them into the elevator that opens directly to her office door.
He saw the door was not properly closed. As he opened it, all he saw was Theo evading a kiss. From this guy who had a death wish!
'Oh hello there, we didn't get a chance to be properly introduced last time. I'm Dustin', Ian looked at the hand he extended for a handshake and was thinking of multiple ways to detach the limb from his person.
Seeing as he wasn't getting a handshake in return, Dustin withdrew his hand and mumbled a see you later before he left.
Leaving Ian and Theo alone.
Without saying a word, Ian closed the door firmly behind him. Going as far as turning the locks.
A wave of nervousness made it's way down her spine. She was fairly certain that she wasn't ready for whatever this visit brought to her.
Choosing to feign ease, she relaxed into her chair. Facing him head on.
Oh he liked her position. This would make this all very easy.
Walking to the table he sat down and looked her square in the face too. That way she could see that he was serious.
'I've given this a lot of thought. Heck it's all I've been thinking about in the past couple of weeks. And I want to start by saying I'm sorry,it wasn't right the way I went about us.
I'm here to try and make this right for us', he waited for her response.
'Okay, I've heard you. And if you recall correctly I assured you I wasn't going to be waiting around for you to make up your mind..'
'I'm going to have to stop you right there', he cut her off not wanting to hear what she was about to say.
He had waited to long to give her any chance to bail out.
She leveled him a look in return. As she saw him standing up, she too stood up. There was no way she was giving him any form of advantage over her in this room.
'You don't get to come into my building, and into my office and start giving underhanded apologies. If you think for one second that your little speech makes it all okay then you have another thing coming your way mister!! I re.....',
During her rant she didn't notice when Ian rounded the table, he then snatched her by the waist and did what he had been meaning to do since he stepped into her building.
He kissed her, with all his pent up frustrations. With all his anger and with all the love he could muster in that moment.
Never in his life did he think he could survive without anything than with what he had in his arms.
This woman was potent!
Finally pulling on some self control, he put a hair's breathe of distance between them.
Both of them breathing heavily.
'I'm sorry, and I'm more than ready for us to be a reality. Starting now',
'Well tough luck!', she scoffed. As much as a breathless person could scoff, but she still held on to him.
'You're not going to make this easy are you?', Ian finally said.
'Not a chance knuckle head',
'Hey, no name calling',
'I can too',
'Of course, why don't I treat you to a very very special dinner tonight. Or lunch and dinner; Or better yet, let me steal you away for the week!!', Theo burst out laughing.
'Nice try, but I have a deadline that is too close for comfort. So unless you want to put your non existent architectural skills to work, I can't be gone for a week..',
'So that's a yes to the day then? Let's go',
He didn't give her a chance to respond before pulling her along to wherever he was going.
Stepping out of the elevator, Theo's secretary was trying to blend with the wall but luck was not on her side as Theo saw her immediately.
'You're fired!', was all she got before Ian pulled her away from the lady who looked two seconds away from passing out.
