Chris:
Wednesday couldn't come fast enough.
Not just because of my trip with Kiara-- though that was mainly why-- but because I was ready for the semester to be over. I was tired of school and more than ready for winter break.
Kiara and I were waiting restlessly by the band room door, hands interlaced, as the time to leave grew closer and closer.
The second the sound of the bell ringing reached our ears, Kiara was pulling me by my hand out of the room and into the crowded hallway.
"Have a great winter break!" Mr. Hathaway called to all of us. "See you all in January!"
Students buzzed with excitement, as everyone pushed and shoved to get to the exits. Everybody wanted to leave, and the cold air was refreshing as we all realized it was really our last day of classes for the rest of the year.
Kiara and I quickly made it to my car, throwing our book bags in the trunk with our other luggage. I got in the driver's seat, and Kiara took shotgun. I buckled in my seatbelt and turned on the car before turning to look at my beautiful girlfriend with a smile.
"You ready?"
Kiara leaned over and pressed her lips against mine. I instinctively deepened the kiss, letting my tongue run along her lips. Her hand gingerly cupped my cheek, and I could feel her smiling against my mouth.
She pulled away, pecking my lips one last time. "Ready."
As she buckled in her seatbelt, I pulled out of the parking lot. We left the school complex, rapping along to J. Cole's Wet Dreamz. When we weren't enjoying the music, we were talking about what felt like everything.
"Okay, cone or cup?" I asked her, after an intense debate on which Doritos flavor was the best.
"Like ice cream?" I nodded at her question. "Cone, easily."
I actually agreed, but for the sake of arguing, I gasped. "How?!"
"Cones give you more to eat!"
I shook my head. "Cones make your hands all sticky and you have to eat it fast. It's disgusting. Eating from a cup is way cleaner."
"If you know how to pace yourself, you can eat an ice cream cone and not look like a two year old. Keeping yourself neat isn't that hard."
I slowed down, after taking the exit toward Dulles airport. Just as I'd assumed, traffic was backed up. I was glad we'd left at the time we did, because it was barely past 6pm.
"So how do you eat an ice cream cone?"
"The same way I suck your dick." Kiara smoothly retorted.
I snorted then pursed my lips. "Well that isn't neat at all."
"Never said it was." I couldn't help but laugh at her cheeky smile. That girl was something else.
We continued having debates over playful and stupid things, until we finally reached the airport. I called my parents as we circled around the lots, trying to figure out where they were.
"I see them." Kiara pointed.
I looked over and sure enough, my dad was leaning against his maroon Porsche. He had his arms folded and was talking through an earpiece. Since I was on the phone with my mom, I figured his call was work related.
Thankfully, there was an available spot 2 spaces over. I quickly got out of my car to jog around and open the door for Kiara. She took my hand, allowing me to help her out of the vehicle. As our fingers laced together, I noticed her squeezing mine a little tighter than normal. I immediately could tell she was nervous. She'd met my parents before, but this was the first time I'd be introducing her to them as my girlfriend.
