Ned left the gym leaving Junior with his own thoughts. He was going to a party, woohoo?
In a state of bewilderment he took is backpack out of his locker and wandered into the parking lot. He entered the usual formal black car his Uncle Happy normally picked him up in, his swarming thoughts blocking out Flash's heckles about: "Penis Parker's fake internship" and how he couldn't wait to meet his "best buddy Spider-Man". Sitting down in the car, greeted with a "hey kid," he sighed dramatically and shrugged of his backpack, hoping to gain his uncle's attention. He saw the man raise his eyebrows in the rear view mirror but he didn't comment so instead the teen sighed more dramatically. Happy, not one to enjoy dealing with emotions stayed quiet, keeping his eyes on the road until Junior sighed yet again.
"What's bothering you kid," he huffed, not irritated with his nephew in the slightest just preparing himself for the ramblings the boy was about go into.
"SobasicallyingymclassmeandNedweredoingsitupsandweoverheardLizandherfriendstalkingabout...umm,itdoesn'tmatterandlongstoryshorthesaidsomethingandnowwe'reinvitedtoherpartytoday," Junior explained rapidly.Happy took a few seconds to gather what he had heard from what Junior appeared to have said all in one breath and began to chuckle, "wait you," he paused to laugh, "you're, going to a party?" He dissolved in hearty laughter, whilst his nephew sat uncomfortably in silence, "oh wait, you were being serious!" He exclaimed with realisation, the teen in the backseat just nodded awkwardly, "Oh I'm sorry kid it's just didn't see you as a party person."
"Neither did I," Junior mumbled.
"What was that?" Happy asked.
"Um nothing," Junior replied quickly."Well," Happy started, "I think it'd be good for you to go. Y'know get out and about, socialise with more people than Ted and JJ,"
"Ned and MJ," Peter corrected.
"Right, sorry. Well I think it would be great for you to go. But you better ask your parents first," Happy finished and became silent to focus on the road.Junior nodded and took his phone out of his pocket to call his dad who was currently on a business trip in India. The phone rang for a couple beats before it was promptly answered.
"Ciao bambino," the familiar voice of Tony Stark flooded his ears.
"Ciao papà, are you free to talk now?" Junior greeted.
"Of course kiddo, what do you need from favourite genius billionaire philanthropist," Tony replied cheerily.
Junior scoffed, "you're the only genius billionaire philanthropist I know," he rolled his eyes though his father's text book snark had already lifted his spirits; he could practically feel his smirk through the phone.
"Wow Junior, you've wounded me," Tony responded in mock hurt, "anyways, shoot kid."
"I well, long story short I've been invited to a party and-" he was cut off by the sound of laughter.
"Hang on kid, wait, wait," Tony said in between chuckles. Junior received a notification that his father had requested to change the call to holo-mode, he reluctantly agreed and was met with the holographic red face of his dad roaring with laughter. "I had to see your face," Tony gave a wheezing explanation, "you - a party?" He dissolved into laughter as if the mere thought if his son attending a social event was hilariously preposterous.
The teen just sat still in silence blushing slightly as his dad guffawed.
"Oh wait you're being serious," Tony realised, "oh I'm sorry kid I didn't -"
"I know, I know I'm not the party type. Can I go or not," Junior cut him off slightly irritated.
"Ask your mum, if she says yes, then sure," Tony replied, stilled shocked.
"Okay, bye Dad."
________________"You? A party?!" Wanda burst out laughing from her space next to Pepper on the couch. Junior rolled his eyes.
His mum just smiled, "well I have to say this is a surprise," she giggled slightly, "just make sure you don't come home too late. I trust you to come back on curfew anyways."
"Who in their right mind invited you to a party?!" Wanda asked still laughing, "you're the most socially awkward person I know."
"...Liz, she's the captain of my decathlon team," Junior reluctantly replied, cheeks burning with embarrassment.
"I know that look," Pepper began, "you like her don't you," she asked but the wide grin on her face showed she already knew the answer. "Aww my baby's first crush," she cooed, Wanda laughed clearly enjoying her brother's humiliation.
"Ew," the Sokovian girl giggled.
Junior retaliated, "well, at least I'm not in love with a glorified toaster."
It was now Wanda's turn to go as red as Pepper's hair.
"I- I don't like Vision - he's just my friend," she explained clumsily.
"Suuuuuuure, friends," he smirked, "and you guys are really just cooking in your room."
"I - we are - y-you tried our cookies. Ugh! You know what, I don't have to explain myself to you," she huffed and walked out the room.
Junior smiled having successfully embarrassed his sister, "fine, go 'cook' with Vision," he made air quotes on cook, "make sure you use protection," he called as Wanda turned back to glare at him.
"Peter Stark!" Pepper warned, voice stern showing she didn't want any more inappropriate conversation.
"What? I meant oven mittens, we don't want her getting burnt do we," the teen said in mock innocence.
