It was just after midnight. Alyssa and Kassi had finally made it out of the venue and were just about to head for their car when they noticed a large crowd forming towards the back of the building.
Kassi gasped before grabbing Alyssa's hand. "Do you think--"
"Probably not," Alyssa expressed sadly before guiding Kassi in the direction they were originally heading. "They have a gig again tomorrow night and they're most likely shattered."
Kassi sighed and nodded, following suit. "Poo, tonight was so much fun. Do you wanna get something to drink before we head home?"
"Zebra hot chocolate?" Alyssa insisted with a grin.
They both exchanged knowing glances before hurrying towards their car and hitting up the closest Starbucks.
. . .
"Muke was strong tonight," Alyssa mentioned with a laugh as they waited for their turn in line.
The place was next to empty, practically a ghost town, and was quite calming in comparison to their scenery earlier.
"Oh, Jesus, please don't even get me started on Luke," Kassi gushed, dramatically fanning her face with a hand.
"You're obsessed!" Alyssa accused jokingly, causing both of them to laugh.
They were right in the midst of ordering their beverages when the sound of the door opening came. As the girls retreated from the counter, Kassi was the first to catch sight of the very familiar long legs of the boys and her breath hitched. Alyssa noticed this and frowned.
"Alyssa," Kassi whispered, slapping her arm repeatedly. "They're here!"
With her back turned, Alyssa already recognized the all too famous laugh that belonged to an all too famous drummer only a few feet away from her.
"Oh my god," Kassi squealed.
"Be calm," Alyssa appeased, making an attempt to casually look over her shoulder.
And there they were. 5 Seconds of Summer, in the flesh, and looking as beautiful as ever. Even after a three hour concert they still managed to look attractive.
Both girls lingered near the counter while they waited for their drinks and tried desperately to maintain inconspicuous as they listened in on what the four famous Australian boys were talking about. As the girls continued to act as nonchalant as possible, it didn't take long for the boys to notice their presence.
Kassi shuffled a bit and blushed when she saw Luke glance in their direction. It was kind of like a chain reaction; Luke discretely tapping Calum and mumbling something in his ear, who passed it on to Michael, who passed it on to Ashton.
"Holy shit," Kassi muttered, gaining Alyssa's attention.
"Do you think they know we went to see them tonight?" Alyssa asked before looking over at them, not very secretively on her part.
Before Kassi could answer, their names were called and both of them made their way over to pass by the group of boys. Just as they were about to take a sip, someone cleared their throat from behind them, stopping them in their tracks.
"Excuse me," a deep voice rumbled, revealing the likes of a very curious Luke Hemmings. Kassi nearly pooled at his feet. "But do you reckon on telling me what kind of drink that is?"
"Uh..." Kassi murmured, her mind suddenly going blank, but was quickly nudged by Alyssa. "Zebra hot chocolate."
"What?" He exclaimed, sounding surprised. "That's a strange name to call a drink. Guys, come over here and look at what they're drinking!"
"What are you going on about Luke?" The famous Calum Hood questioned, giving Alyssa a once over as he made his way towards them. Who, by the way, did a very good job of looking engrossed in her beverage.
"Something about zebras," the red head Michael Clifford chimed in as he joined the bunch, smiling happily at the two girls. "Hello, is this idiot bothering you?"
Kassi shook her head while Alyssa smiled shyly.
"Oi! Aren't you lads going to order?" Ashton's thick accent boomed from behind them as he stormed over, confused and all. His eyes immediately fell upon both of the girls and he kindly grinned down at them. "Who do we have here?"
"Luke was harassing them," Calum responded smugly, causing Luke to roll his eyes.
"I just wanted to know what they got," he opposed, turning towards Kassi once again. "Is it good?"
"I think so," Kassi answered with a smile that he returned.
"That's actually code for flirting," Calum muttered, making Michael laugh.
"What are you two lovely ladies doing out at a time like this?" Ashton inquired, ignoring the other boys.
Alyssa cleared her throat. "Actually, we just came from watching your gig earlier."
Michael smiled. "Oh, so you know who we are."
"Of course," Kassi replied. "You guys were amazing."
"Awh, thank you, I'm glad you guys enjoyed yourselves," Ashton piped up.
"Uh yeah, most definitely," Alyssa stuttered, suddenly nervous. "But I think maybe we should go now?"
At this, she looked up at all of them and noticed their confused expressions.
"Go?" Michael questioned. "But we just met! You can't find our presence that unpleasant already."
Both girls laughed.
"Besides, we didn't even get your names," Luke prodded, still looking at Kassi.
"I'm Kassi," she introduced and then proceeded to point at Alyssa. "And that's Alyssa."
"Rad, we've just made some new friends," Calum claimed, grinning widely at Alyssa.
"Who, in fact, still need to explain to us about the whole zebra thing," Michael mused.
"Zebra hot chocolate," Kassi clarified. "It has both white and dark chocolate - hence, the name. It's really good, you guys should try it."
"You guys should stick around until we do," said Ashton. "I don't want any false advertising from a couple of strangers."
They all laughed and as Kassi and Alyssa waited patiently for the boys to get their drinks, they knew they made the right decision of going to Starbucks tonight.
