Kassi gave the mirror one last look before exiting the bathroom and entering Alyssa's bedroom.
"Lys!" Kassi cheered as she strolled over to the window and pulled the blinds open. "Wake up, I'm about to leave for my all-day date with Luke!"
Alyssa stirred under the covers, but didn't bother to open her eyes. "Just go, you don't need to wake me up to tell me that," she grumbled, burying her head further into her pillow.
Kassi plopped onto the mattress with a sigh, shoving the lump that is Alyssa.
"But I'm freaking out!" Kassi shared, sounding frantic. "Luke and I have never done this before. Would it kill you to give me one of your magical best friend pep talks before I go? He'll be here in five minutes."
Alyssa moaned before popping out from under the blanket and sat up, revealing a mad case of bed head and a frown.
Kassi smirked, reaching out to smooth out some of the standing hairs. "Well, don't you look like a bucket of sunshine this morning?"
Alyssa rolled her eyes. "You want my pep talk or not?" She retorted, immediately getting Kassi shut up. "Anyway, why are you freaking out so much? You two have practically been attached at the hip for the past two and a half weeks."
"I don't want to embarrass myself in front of him!" Kassi exclaimed worriedly.
"I'm pretty sure you two have gone way past embarrassing by now," Alyssa told her before patting her on the knee.
"How so?" Kassi inquired.
"Didn't you tell me he's already farted around you? ... And admitted it?" Alyssa questioned, cringing to herself.
Kassi giggled. "That silly boy, he's so cute. He turns so red when I catch him and -"
"Yeah, adorable," Alyssa interrupted, slightly uncomfortable. "Anyway, just don't think about it too much and be yourself. You have nothing to fear, like I said before, that boy is over the moon."
Alyssa sent her a kind smile, but Kassi still wasn't convinced.
"But farting is one thing, I mean, everybody farts," Kassi started, wringing her hands together. "What if I whip out one of my weird habits? If he catches me in the act, I don't think I could ever live it down."
"Like what?" Alyssa asked, cuddling back into her pillow and looking up at Kassi curiously.
"Oh, I don't know," Kassi exclaimed sarcastically. "You know how I sometimes do that weird hiccup-laugh if I laugh too hard? Yeah, it's the worst!"
Alyssa snorted. "Oh my god, are you serious? That's what you're worried about?"
Kassi nodded fervently.
"I actually find that laugh rather adorable," Alyssa stated, smiling mischievously.
"Shut up," Kassi sassed. "Luke won't."
"You're being ridiculous, Kas," Alyssa drawled out before throwing the covers over her head again.
Kassi groaned before burying her head into Alyssa's sheets too.
"By the way, I wouldn't have expected farting until after 2 months of dating," Alyssa mentioned, giggling to herself while Kassi gasped. "But don't tell Luke that."
"Hey - "
Laying next to each other, both girls exchanged a look before bursting into laughter.
"Okay, okay," Kassi breathed out after they had calmed down from their laughing high. "Whatever, Lys, I bet Calum has done some pretty boyish things around you as well."
Alyssa shrugged.
"Really? Hm, then I guess Luke and I are just that open with each other," Kassi claimed with a wink as Alyssa shuddered.
The girls spent the next few minutes babbling about absolutely nothing and soon enough, Luke was knocking on their apartment door.
. . .
"Your quiff is perfectly erect, stop touching it!" Calum exclaimed as he came up behind Luke in the bathroom mirror.
Luke glared at him through the reflection, sighing loudly.
"Leave me alone," he grumbled before noticing that Calum was dressed up also. "Where are you going?"
"Ash and I are hitting the studio for a bit and then I'm going to go see Alyssa in the afternoon," Calum informed him while running his fingers through his fringe a couple times.
Luke nodded before returning to his hair.
"Still can't believe Alyssa gave you another chance," Michael sung as he too strolled in, heading for the toilet. "You're just gonna screw things up again."
Calum rolled his eyes. "Doubt me all you want, but let me assure you I'm not leaving her side anytime soon."
"Good for you, mate," Luke stated with a smile.
"And besides, today isn't about me," Calum spoke, grinning back at Luke. "Lukey here is finally going to make things official with Kassi!"
Luke felt his face burn, but he stood a bit taller as he checked himself out one last time in the mirror.
"Yes, I am," he declared. "Let's just hope she says yes."
"Oh, she definitely will," Michael stated cheerfully as he flushed the toilet.
Calum and Luke just stared at him before shaking both their heads. Once he finished his business, Luke bid his bandmates goodbye before heading over to the girls' place.
