"You're going on a date... You're going on a date..." Alyssa sung rather obnoxiously as she walked into the kitchen where Kassi was brewing up some coffee.

"Stop that," Kassi sassed with a roll of her eyes, but smiled nonetheless behind her mug.

"No, I will not!" Alyssa opposed before plopping into a stool at the kitchen counter. "Can't a girl be excited for her best friend?"

"I'm trying to be as calm as possible for tonight so that I won't scare him away with my overbearing excitement," Kassi said, worry seeping in her tone.

"Nonsense, the boy is over the moon," Alyssa told her friend. "And besides, you're just watching a movie, what's the worst that could happen?"

"I trip, I have food in my teeth, my laugh comes out a little too loud, a bra strap peeks out - Lys, the possibilities are endless!" Kassi exclaimed exasperatedly.

"Okay, first of all," Alyssa began as she stood up from her stool. "You need to calm down. Second of all, you look kind of funny when you're stressed, but seriously just stop."

Kassi shot her a look, resulting in Alyssa to raise her hands up in surrender.

"You're being ridiculous! Anyone who is anyone can see just how much Luke Hemmings likes you," Alyssa added with a smile, wrapping an arm around Kassi's shoulders. "You're still Kassi Hemmings in my phone, so let's make that dream a reality, yeah?"

Both girls laughed out loud before finishing their breakfast and prepping for Kassi's date with Luke later that day.

. . .

"Alyssa," Calum breathed out, seemingly relieved to hear her voice.

"Well, hi," she replied on the other line, smiling to herself.

"What are you up to today? I can't seem to get you out of my head. You're distracting me from my work," Calum complained.

Alyssa laughed. "Is that really my fault?"

"Yes, it's not okay," he stressed, trying to act serious but failed.

"Calum! Get back in 'ere and finish your bit on the song," he heard Ashton call out from inside the studio where everyone else was.

"Alright, alright!" Calum shouted in response before returning back to Alyssa. "Can I come over later tonight?"

"Oh, I see," Alyssa started, sounding suspicious. "You're using Kassi's absence to your advantage, huh?"

"What?" His voice squeaked as he cringed. "No! I didn't mean it like that, I really just want to--"

"I'm kidding, Cal," Alyssa told him, giggling. "Of course you can."

After they both hung up, Calum walked back into the studio, where he was immediately met with his bandmates' curious expressions. He pretended to ignore them, situating himself on the couch next to Luke while Michael finished up in the recording booth. He made eye contact with a squinting Ashton, who was smiling sheepishly.

"What?"

"You tell us," Ashton prodded with a shrug of his shoulders.

"What do you mean?" Calum questioned, staring at them both.

"Do you honestly think Alyssa is going to want that?" Ashton insisted.

"What are you talking about? I don't plan on doing anything," Calum remarked with a frown.

"Are you sure about that? It's been a week and you haven't made any big moves?" Ashton asked incredulously.

"Why is that any of your fucking business?" Calum suddenly snapped, catching his friends by surprise. "Maybe I don't want to. Maybe I actually do want to get to know her for her and not how good she is in bed. Why do I even have to explain myself?"
