Alyssa was right. Kassi had nothing to worry about. Her date with Luke had been nothing but fun and laughs, and the day was only halfway over. Apparently, Luke had much more planned later that night and Kassi wasn't sure how long she could contain her excitement.

After he picked her up, Luke surprised her with brunch on the beach and it was perfect considering the weather decided to cooperate that afternoon. Occasionally, a fan would come up to them, and since Kassi had learned from her first mistake, she made sure to give Luke his time with them while he made sure his fans knew that he couldn't stay long. And it was nice knowing that the fans respected that.

"You're really pretty," a fan had said to Kassi as she was stood off to the side, watching Luke interact with fans and smiling proudly. "And thank you for letting him meet us, you have no idea how long we've been waiting."

Clearly, she was caught off guard by the compliment, let alone it being from a fan, but she thanked them nonetheless.

"Trust me, I've definitely been there," Kassi informed the fan before they both laughed.

"You guys are on a date?" Another fan asked her, sounding genuinely curious.

Kassi just nodded as she made eye contact with Luke, who winked at her. Soon enough, he wrapped up his last selfie with a fan before returning to Kassi's side, slipping an arm around her shoulders.

"Alright guys, thanks for coming out and being patient with us, but we need to get back to our date," he told them.

Kassi blushed as the group of girls whooped and hollered.

"I ship it!" A voice sounded from the group, causing everyone to laugh.

Sharing one last goodbye, the couple finally parted from the group and started heading towards Sunset Boulevard, watching as the sun began to descend from its spot high in the sky.

"Oh, how fitting," Kassi mused as they both strolled down the sidewalk, arm in arm.

Luke's heart warmed, seeing a smile stretch across her face.

"Are you enjoying yourself, love?" He asked.

She turned to him. "Of course I am," she said, leaning up and planting a kiss on his cheek. "Today couldn't have gone any better."

"I'm really happy to hear that," he said, smiling widely.

"And your fans are nicer than I expected, which is surprising to say the least," she told him as she stared at their synchronized foot steps down the LA pavement.

"No it isn't," he opposed, halting their stride. "What's not to like about you? You're completely amazing and I don't deserve you."

Kassi blushed for probably the thirtieth time today and shook her head. "Oh, Luke, you have no idea how much you mean to me."

Smiling endearingly at one another, Luke made the move of kissing her on the lips. After a few moments, they pulled away, still only centimeters apart.

"Do you mind if we make one more stop before this all-day date of ours comes to an end?" Luke requested, stroking her cheek softly.

"I'd go anywhere with you," she complied with a smile before letting him lead the way.

. . .

"What are your plans for the holidays?" Calum questioned, breaking the silence.

They were both cuddled up in Alyssa's bed. Calum taking part in being the big spoon to Alyssa's little one.

After Kassi had left with Luke, which happened to be a little over five hours ago, Alyssa hadn't bothered to move from her spot in bed at all. She didn't have any classes that day, so she seized the opportunity.

Under her awareness however, Calum showed up around noon and when he found out what her whereabouts were the entire day, he didn't seem to mind having her in his arms for a couple hours.

So in that time, they just talked. They confronted their feelings and worries, and Alyssa almost felt confident enough on giving him a chance. Though maybe she needed one more distinct sign of his commitment in order to break down those walls. And maybe, break some of his as well. He seemed a lot more troubled than he made himself out to be.

Alyssa sighed, tracing the tattoos on his arm that was wrapped around her waist from behind. "Probably staying home..."

"Here?" He asked, scooting closer to her. "What about Kassi?"

"She usually goes down to San Francisco to visit her family," Alyssa replied, completely engrossed with the veins protruding from his tan skin.

"What about your family?" Calum's tone dripped with concern, but Alyssa didn't seem too bothered by it.

"My parents go on cruises all the time and I'm an only child," she told him before turning over so that she could see him face to face.

Calum didn't say anything after that and instead, ran his fingers through her hair, watching her eyes close as she drifted off to sleep.

. . .

"Zebra hot chocolate?" Luke confirmed with a grin as Kassi nodded.

"Yes sir," she told him. "I'll be right back, I need to go to the restroom."

They both exchanged a quick kiss before she disappeared. Giving Luke no more than five minutes to prepare, the second he was called next in line, he wasted no time in getting this certain task done.

"Listen, mate," Luke said to the cashier. "Do you think you could do something for me?"

Once Kassi stepped out, her eyes fell upon Luke, who was already sat down at a table near the window with two coffee cups in front of him. She smiled before making her way over, seating herself in the empty chair.

"Well, that was fast," she commented with a laugh.

"For once," Luke remarked with a grin. "Can you check if they spelled your name right? I hate it when they do that."

Kassi giggled before bringing the cup up to her face. However, as her eyes scanned the words scribbled on it, she was speechless. Not only was her name spelled perfectly, but it was also followed by the impending question will you be my girlfriend? written in black sharpie.

Kassi froze in place, smacking a hand over her mouth as she looked up at Luke. A sheepish smile made its way onto his face before he reached out to encase her other hand in his.

"Okay, let me just start off by saying, I know we've only known each other for a short amount of time and so you probably think the question is a little too forward," he started but Kassi remained silent, just staring at him. "But I've been giving it a lot of thinking and I'm certain that letting go of what we have right now would be foolish of me. And I know that - "

"Just shut up and kiss me," Kassi stopped him and practically leaped across the table to grab his face and plant a wet one right there, in the middle of a Los Angeles Starbucks for everyone to see. And neither of them cared.

Suddenly, Luke pulled away.

"So I take that as a yes?" He asked, biting on his lip ring to contain his ginormous smile.

"A million times yes," Kassi affirmed before pulling him in for another kiss.
