A/N: this is WAY too long, so, I'm calling it a short story, not a one shot😂. Anyways, enjoy I guess💕

Piper has separation anxiety, so it's hard for when any of her siblings have to leave the house, even if it's only for five minutes. But on top of that, her and her boyfriend Finn, are in a long distance relation ship. Finn's been living in LA for three years, 2 years after dating Piper. Piper lives in Toronto,Canada, she misses Finn too much. The couple face time every night before going to sleep, and most of the time, one of them (most of the time Piper) falls asleep on call. But Finn thinks it's adorable and takes a picture of his sleeping girlfriend every time it happens, and sends it to her the next day.

In LA, where Finn, his older sister Hannah, and younger step sister Maisie live, with their dad David, and step Mum Sarah, Finn managed to convince them to let him and Hanna tongo to Canada to surprise Piper, on her birthday that's this weekend. "Finn! Hannah! Come down here!" Sarah calls, "Coming!" She hears her step daughter call back, when she reaches the kitchen, Sarah asks, "Where's your brother?" Sarah and Finn don't have a great relation ship, Finn wants her to leave, and Sarah wants to stay, because she loves David so... "Oh, he's doing last minute packing." Hanna replies, "Oh, well, do you have all your stuff packed?" Hannah's going with Finn because she's also in a long distance relation ship with her girlfriend Zoe, and, Finn can't fly without her because she's 18 and he just turned 17. "Hannah, Deborah just messaged me." Hannah turned around to see her younger brother walking down the stairs with his suitcase in one hand, phone in the other. "Finn, don't walk down the stairs on your phone, you could fall." Finn's step mum says, he rolls his eyes and goes to his sister. "What did she say?" Hannah asked worried, "Just saying that she sent Piper out with James for a couple of hours so we can sneak in." Hannah chuckled, "Isn't it her birthday this weekend?" Sarah asks, "Yeah?" Finn questions, "I thought you were surprising her for her birthday." "Deborah said we can get there a few days early because she knows and I know that Piper would like that." There's a smirk on the blonde boy's face at the end, "Right, you kids ready?" David, their dad asked emerging from the other room, "Yeah!" They say in unison, "I'll be back in a few hours okay?" He whispered to Sarah, holding her hands. "Okay, I still don't get why they didn't even invite Maisie. Her dream place to visit is Canada, and that's where there going." Sarah complained, her daughter is 14, and it's been her dream destination since she was 10. "Maybe we could take her on her 16th?" David suggested, Sarah has no idea about Piper's anxiety, and Piper hasn't properly met Maisie, and he knows it would be too much. "Okay, but still, they didn't invite her. They're excluding her!" She exclaimed, this time the kids hearing, coming back in from putting their luggage in their dad's car. "Sarah, they're not excluding her!" "And yet your letting your gay teenager go!"Finn looked at his sister, all concerned for her. He excepts her 100%. Hannah knows that Sarah doesn't really, so that's why she only came out to her 2 years after the adult's wedding. "Sarah!" Finn shouts, "Finn, it's fine." Hannah says, Sarah and David looking at the kids, Hannah then disappeared outside. Before Finn went after her, he put his middle finger up at his step mum to protect his sister.
"Kids, okay, I know what just happened wasn't cool but-" David was cut of by his biological daughter, "Wasn't cool? Dad she basically just said I'm not allowed to go anywhere because of my sexuality!" Hannah cries, "I'm gonna talk to her about that-" "When?!" Hannah kind of yells before going to get in the car, Finn went to follow her, but was stopped, "If you think your getting away with what you just did you are dead wrong Finley." His dad's voice went scary deep, "But I was just protecting Hannah! She shouldn't of said that in there."  Finn said, "I know, I've talked to her about this kind of stuff before. And I'll talk to her again to protect you two. But the second you get back you are so grounded!" David exclaimed to his son, Finn groaned before getting into the car.

Piper wasn't letting Leah leave for 'college'. Leah was going with her mum to the airport to pick Finn and Hannah up. It's three days until Piper's birthday, and everyone knows about the two coming, apart from Piper of course. "If you leave your leaving me!" Piper said, every time someone walks out the house to go somewhere, she automatically thinks their not coming back, that's why she needs them to stay. "Piper, I'm going to college. They only moved this course to a later time today. It won't happen again okay?" Leah, Piper's older sister said, going along with the plan. The time out with James earlier didn't last longer then Deborah and her husband Austin thought it would. "But you can't leave, please." Piper wasn't going to agree to something like this, Leah just got a messaged from Hannah saying their flight is going to land in 2 hours, and it's a 1 hour and a 1/2 drive to the airport their meeting at. "Piper I don't have any other choice, if I stay here I'm going to fail the course." "So if I make you stay here your failing? Because of me and my stupid anxiety?" Piper said, holding back tears. "What? no! That's not what I said!" Leah accident yelled. Rule number 1 with Piper's separation anxiety and just her anxiety in general: if your trying to convince her  to let you leave, don't yell. She won't let you go then if you do.'  All eyes fall on Leah, tears now coming from her little sister's eyes. "Pipes! How about we go out when Leah's at college?" James questioned, trying to help the situation. Piper shook her head, "We can go and get Ice Cream, cookie dough? Your favourite right?" James added, Leah was heading for the front door now, "Baby, darling, is it okay if I drive Leah to college? Her car broke down the other day." Deborah said to her daughter who was thinking of ice cream now, 'thanks James, now you've made me hungry!' Piper thought sarcastically to her self. "Actually, I kind of fancy an ice cream now. If that's okay?" Piper asked whipping her tears of her face Deborah sat next to her youngest and hugged her, "Of course, just make sure James pays okay?" James throws his hands up in the air jokingly, everyone letting out a chuckle. "Will Leah be back when we're back?" Piper asks, "It depends how long you and James take honey. But don't rush okay?" Piper nods.

Hannah and Finn just got of a 2 hour plane ride, and are now walking through the airport to find their ride to their destination. It takes a while, but they found them! "Leah!" Hannah exclaimed excitedly going to hug her, "Hannah! I've missed you so much!" Leah mentioned happily. The two are actually best friends. "Hey sweetie." Deborah greeted Finn with a hug, "Hey!" Finn says, "How's Pipes?" Finn asks when pulling out of his hug, "She was alright until I told her I had to go to 'college'- Leah used quotation marks, "But we were actually coming here. But James took her out for ice cream so all is now good." Finn smile, ''Not long until I see her!' Finn thinks to him self.

James and Piper just got back, and Leah hasn't arrived yet. "Where's Leah and Mum? I told them not to go!" Piper said frustratedly, "Piper, they'll be back okay, they're not far." Her dad comforted her with a hug.
Piper was so focused on a movie with her brother, she didn't even hear the door open. The two were watching a Harry Potter movie, one of Piper's favorite movie series, and it just happens to be Leah's favorite movie of the series they have on. "Your watching this with out me??" Leah exclaimed, "It was Pipes's idea!" "Piper, seriously?" Leah laughed at the end, sitting next to her little sister. "What? We're allowed to watch movies when your out." Piper said truthfully, 'It's such a beautiful sound, her voice.' Finn thought, Piper has yet to catch eye on the two people at the front door with suitcases. "I know, but it's my favorite one! And for that, you get this!" Leah then suddenly tickles Piper, laughter fills the room. James joins in tickling Piper seconds later, Finn wanted to, but Piper has some how not seen him yet. "Stop-stop!" Piper laughed out in surrender, "Okay, we'll stop. Only if you'll put my shoes by the door." Leah said. "What, you just came passed the door!" Piper exclaimed, "Please? They didn't let us sit down so my feet are killing!" Piper chuckled, but did as she was told. When she was about to sit down, she stopped in her tracks. 'Hopefully I'm not going crazy, but I swear I just saw something at the front door.' Piper hopes to her self. "You okay Pipes?" James asks, she shakes her head, "Yeah - yeah, I think so anyways." "What do you mean?" Leah asked, "Well I might be going crazy but I swear I just saw-" she turned back to the front door, her eyes widened. There stood Hannah, her boyfriend's sister, and her boyfriend him self, both wearing smiles. She puts her hands over her mouth in shock, "Please tell me I'm not going crazy and you can see them too?" Piper asks her siblings, "Why else did you think I'll be going to college this late?" Leah asked with excitement, Piper turned back to the door, still in shock. But she ran up to Finn and hugged him tight. "Hey baby, hey." Finn said, he's so glad she finally spotted him, he didn't know how much longer he could of waited. Piper cried happy tears on Finn's shoulder, when they pulled out of the hug, she hugged Hannah. "Oh Piper sweetie don't cry." Her mother said while hugging her, "Sorry." Piper said when pulling out of the hug, "Wait, so you all knew Finn and Hannah were coming and didn't tell me?" Piper asked, whipping her tears for the second time that day. "Yep. But it was an early birthday surprise for you, so we kept it a secret." Pier hugged her sister tight, "I'm sorry I didn't let you leave earlier." The youngest of the Parker family said honestly, "It's okay, it's okay" Leah soothed her little sister.

After re uniting, the evening began to become night. Finn was in Piper's room with her, talking all about all they could on the first night. "How did you convince your dad to come to Canada without him?" The brunet asked, "It was hard, but from what I learnt from you, it turned okay." Piper smiled. "What do you mean, what you learnt from me?" Piper asked with a confused faces. Finn and Piper are cuddling, Finn sits up in a position where he can see his girlfriend, "Pipes, you kidding? You are so persuasive." Piper raises her eyebrows, but doesn't say anything, all she does is crashes her lips onto her boyfriend's lips, letting a little giggle escape.

It's the day she's been waiting for, her 17th birthday! She was the first to wake, all happy and excited. Or so she thought, when she got down stairs, her whole family was downstairs, including Finn and James. The two who love to sleep in the most. 'How did he beat me down here?' Piper thought, re calling only seeing Finn still in bed when she woke, un less when she got dressed in her en-suite, he snuck down. "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Piper, happy birthday to you!" They all sung, "Thank you guys. I love you all!" Piper gave her family a massive group hug, smiling so big. When she got out of their embrace, Finn gave her a long, passionate kiss. "Right, that's it, I'm going back to bed." James said, everyone laughed. "James, it's my birthday! And it's not even that early!" Piper exclaimed, now sitting on her boyfriend's lap. "It's 7:45 in the morning Pipes!" Everyone laughed again, but James stayed downstairs.

Piper opened all of her presents, cuddled with Finn on the couch, and talked with her family. But there was still one last present she had yet to open. Piper laid on the on the couch in her boyfriend's arms, close to him, Finn playing with her hair, arm around her waist, the feeling of Finn's thumb brushing her knuckles making her blush. Finn had his shoulder gently resting on Piper's, half falling back asleep. Pier turned so she could see him, resting a hand on his cheek, "Hey." She said so softly, caressing her thumb. "Hey baby." Finn took her hand, and kissed it softly. Finn got her a bracelet, from the same brand of their matching rings, "Happy birthday! I love you." Finn added tiredly, "thank you buba, I love you too." Piper kissed him softly, resting her head on his shoulder after wards, Finn bringing her as close to him as he could. "Hey, we got something! No going back as sleep love birds!" Leah exclaimed,Piper sat up, Finn still holding her close. Her older sister held a big box in her hand, and placed it on Piper's lap. "What it is?" The brunet asked, investigating the box. "Open it and you'll see! But we do have to explain something to you after." Austin said. Piper nodded, with a confused look on her face. "I'm scared now." She said jokingly, "Don't be Pipes, it's okay." Finn comforted her, squeezing her waist gently. She opened the lid to this mysterious box slowly, still scared inside. Finn knowing his girlfriend's emotions, wrapped his arms around her waist gently, this made Piper relax. It always does, her boyfriend's touch. After about 10 minutes, Piper got brave, well a little bit. She asked Finn to open the box with her, so that's what happened. One look inside, she dropped the lid, inside was a little golden retriever puppy. He barked happily seeing Piper, she took him out of the box slowly, "oh my gosh." Piper said in the sweetest voice ever, she cuddled her new puppy so gently before putting him on her lap, she started petting him right away. "Thank you!" She exclaimed happily, "You are very welcome darling! Now, there are a few rules that we have to discuss." Deborah said, "He's a puppy though, a very adorable one!" Piper said, "I know sweetie, but there's still some things we need to put into consideration okay?" Piper nodded, now letting Finn pet her new dog. Piper's dad started of by saying the rules, "Since you go to public school, and neither of your mum and I can home school you, we tried to convince the school to let you bring him in to help you but they wouldn't budge. So, who ever picks you up will bring him in the car." 'Why does she need help at school? She's doing okay there, isn't she' Finn thought, Piper reading bc her boyfriend like a book, told him, "A few months after you left, I started getting panic attacks again, they got worse when I was in school and once I almost fainted because of one. But I'm okay now. I mean, I still get them but not as much as I did." Finn nodded, he kissed her sweetly, "As long as your okay." Austin went on with the rules, there were 6:
Rule n1: Piper isn't allowed to walk him on her own(yes she is 17, but it's her anxiety that doesn't let her go out on her own).
Rule n2: you must tell us right away when you've fed him.
Rule n3: he will sense when your down, or nervous, so don't shut him out when your all stressed like you do with people. (Piper got defenses then)
Rule n4: no getting upset if someone else walks him and she's not allowed to go as well.
Rule n5: if you get in trouble, we won't let him near you. She almost cried on that one.
And finally. Rule n6: yes he is yours, but also the family's.
Piper agreed with the rules, apart from 5. "What your gonna name him?" Hannah asked, "Umm, what about, Oscar?" She asked, everyone nodded and her mum said, Piper, you can call him what ever you like. He's yours!"

Piper's birthday was coming to an end, she had the best time playing with Oscar, cuddling with Finn, doing the traditional fave in the cake, she wasn't happy about that. Like every year on her birthday, he starts a good fight because she hates it when her head is pushed into her own birthday cake! It's now evening time and the family are doing another tradition, whenever it's someone's birthday, their allowed to put the movie of their choice on and the whole family watched with them.  Piper put on Hotel Dystopia of course! She sat next to Finn, in his arms, head on his chest. There was the smallest  gap between them, and that was for Oscar the dog.

Finn and Hannah were only staying for two weeks, and those two weeks flew by. The night before the day Finn had to leave, Piper broke a rule, she left Oscar out side her room, whilst she broke down in Finn's arms. She remembered that he was leaving her (again!) tomorrow, and she couldn't cope with not seeing him every day. So, Finn made a phone call, after speaking with Piper's parents, to sort something out.
"Why do you have to leave me!" Piper cried into Finn's shoulder, she was saying good bye to her boyfriend, "I don't want to leave you baby, I love you way to much." Finn cried, hugging her tight. Loud cries came from the brunet when saying goodbye, she put up a real good fight about an hour ago, 100 reasons on why Finn and Hannah can't leave. But her parents wouldn't budge, she's been crying ever since. "I-I d-don't want you to go! Why are you doing this?!" She shouted sort of, crying  after, her family looked at each other worriedly, "I don't want to leave you, trust me on that okay?  I hate the fact that I have to leave." Finn cried even more. 15 minutes passed and Finn tried to escape his girlfriend's arms, but he couldn't. "Pipes, baby, I hate to ruin this but we gotta go." Finn said when his heart broke inside, Piper shook her head. "No! You can't, please, you can't leave!" Piper has no idea how she still had tears left to come, "Baby." Finn pulled his head away slowly from where it was restring on Piper's shoulder, she tried to hug him tighter, so he couldn't leave, but he kissed her in stead. Lips moving in sync, giving each other the love they have for the other, the kiss was passionate. When they pulled away, Finn muttered against her lips, "I love you baby, please remember that." "Of course I'll remember that buba, I love you so much." Piper muttered against his lips, when they pulled away, Piper went to hug Hannah and continued to cry. "I'm gonna miss you!" Piper said, "I'm gonna miss you too Piper!" Hannah exclaimed sadly. Once all the good byes were done, Piper ran into her brother's arms, not wanting to see them leave, because it would be the worse pain she's ever felt. "Pipes, there's still one more, kind of late birthday present we have to give you." James said softly, looking down at his crying baby sister who's in his arms, "What?" She asked, pulling slightly out of the hug, whipping her tears. Finn nodded for James to tell the surprise, "Finn isn't going back to LA." He started. "He is! He's leaving me and-" before she could continue, James cut her off, "No Pipes, he isn't. Finn's not leaving you!" Piper is now confused, "What are you talking about?" She turned to the siblings at the door, Finn spoke up, "Pipes, I managed to call my dad last night after talking with your parents and, they all agreed that I could stay."
Happiness flies through her all of a sudden, "Wait, what so your staying? Here? Is Hannah staying too or just you?" She asked, Hannah answered that one, "Dad said that I could stay a little longer so he re booked my flight back, but he told that I would need to stay at Zoe's." A soft smile grew on Piper, "Are you serious?" The brunet asked in disbelief, "Yeah. Pipes, no more going away." Finn answered softly. Suddenly Piper ran into her boyfriend's arms and hugged him lovenly.
After a year of Finn living with his girlfriend, her anxiety was lowered, her happiness was brought up, and then when one weekend when Finn had to go and see his family, everything went wrong. But when he got back, she was the happiest girl in the world.
