Looking at the train, Sarah was anything but ready for another year at Hogwarts. School meant drama, and drama meant Draco. Fighting with Draco was the least of her worries right now. It was more focused on Harry Potter and the whole death eater/Voldemort drama and the escaped criminal in the form of Sirius Black.
Suddenly, someone tapped Sarah's shoulder, shaking her out of her thoughts about the murderer on the run; she whipped around to see her friend Ava standing there with an annoying grin on her face. "Don't ever do that again!"
"Oooh I'm so scared. Did you think I was Sirius Black out to get you?" Sarah just rolled her eyes and started to walk towards the train but was stopped by the bane of her existence, the one and only Draco Malfoy.
"Sarah, how was your summer? Horrible hopefully if everything is right in the world?" Draco was standing there with a smug smirk etched across his face as Pansy Parkinson, who was virtually on top of him, snickered and chimed in.
"You look absolutely terrible. Shame you couldn't come to the party this summer. Oh wait that's because you weren't invited! Oops."
"Oh how I've missed you Pansy. I don't know what I would do without you brightening up my day," Sarah sneered with the most sarcastic smile ever seen to man.
Pansy scoffed and practically skipped away, clutching Draco's hand. He had to tear it out of her iron grip and basically push her onto the tracks to get her away from him. They entered the train at last, and Sarah never felt such joy in her entire existence.
"I can't believe I'm going to have to stay in the same room as her for an entire year. Might as well just kill me now." Ava dramatically dragged herself toward the train, groaning all the way. She even went as far as to fake sobs right before walking up the train's three steps.
Her and Sarah marched down the bustling corridor that goes through the center of the Hogwarts Express, passing Luna, who is Ava's current crush, on the way. "Hey Luna. I really like you're sunglasses," Ava stuttered out. She was already weak in the knees and a complete mess.
"Oh thanks. I made them myself; they're made entirely of recyclable materials," replied Luna with a slight blush coating her cheeks and a proud glint in her eyes.
"Wow, so you're not just pretty but talented too. You know what they say..."
"What do they say?"
"Oh. Um. Uh. Never underestimate a Ravenclaw. Yeah. That's what they say." Luna laughed and said goodbye while Ava cursed under her breath about how stupid she sounded.
"That was really smooth, Ava. You know, I think I saw those cartoon hearts pop out of your eyes," Sarah teased.
"Shut up. Let's go find a carriage before all of the good ones are gone." The pair walked down the corridor, eventually settling in a carriage towards the end of the train. Soon, the train started to speed up and march down the train tracks towards Hogwarts. School-aged children waved through the windows as their parents waved goodbye, clutching each other and crying. School was officially in session and boy was Sarah dreading her classes.
Classes meant Snape, and Snape was, at best, an entitled asshole. Generally, he was a dick who thought he could shove everyone around. That's probably why he and Sarah didn't get along whatsoever. That and his loathing for all Gryffindors to ever exist. Consequently, he adored Draco, only fueling the feud between Draco and Sarah. Speaking of Snape, there goes the only person that he hates more than her, Harry Potter who looked as disheveled as ever. "Ava, have you ever noticed that Harry Potter always looks like he's running away from a fire?"
"If by fire, you mean Sirius Black then yes. Did you hear that Sirius Black is coming to Hogwarts to finish off Voldemort's Job and kill Harry?"
"Where did you hear that from?"
"A good detective never reveals her sources."
"Whatever. I'll just talk to him later at dinner and see what's going on."
"That's literally no fun at all, and you're supposed to be the Gryffindor! I guess the sorting hat is getting a little less accurate in his old age."
"Well the hat got you pinned down. Bitchy and Slytherin go about as well together as Draco and hair gel. I'm still surprised that you and Pansy are not ultimate best friends."
"She could never annoy me like you can. Plus, have you ever seen her when she's mad? I'm almost one hundred percent positive that I saw claws and fangs when she couldn't find one of her knee socks. Just one single knee sock!" Sarah laughed, shaking her head. Ava was partially right for once. Pansy Parkinson was the ultimate drama queen, even topping Ava in that aspect.
"Contrary to popular belief, Ava, Pansy does not have claws or fangs. She just has really bad teeth and extremely sharp nails. I wonder if that's how she keeps her clutch on Draco. There's only one good thing about Pansy. She can make Draco suffer in ways that I can't, but don't you ever tell her I said that."
"It might slip out when we have one of our classic Slytherin pillow fights and braid each other's hair while we gossip about Harry Potter's wand if you catch my drift," Ava replied sarcastically while raising her eyebrows to make sure Sarah noticed her little joke. Ava always found a way to make a sexual
innuendo. "Honestly, I'll probably forget that you even said that in about five minutes, so we're all good." Sarah's eyes narrowed jokingly at the first comment before she turned her attention to the passing countryside right outside of the train's window.
Suddenly, the lights flickered and a scream could be heard echoing throughout the train, a thump soon following. Everyone rushed out of their cabins and towards the sound, only to be stopped abruptly by one of the professors. "Everyone back to their cabin! Everything is completely fine." The students reluctantly walked back towards their cabins, but they were whispering and gossiping on the way. Even the professor looked a little nauseous and worried. Everyone claimed to already have seen or heard things, but Sarah knew one thing for sure. This was going to be another exciting year at Hogwarts.enjoy!!!
