Sarah and Ava walked towards the group gathering near Hagrid for his class. Of course the terrain was a little difficult for Ava to navigate. She could not walk a single foot outside without almost falling down due to her high heels that she insisted on wearing. Apparently, they go with her outfit better. "I hate the outdoors, Sarah. I really do. Now, until I can change much later in the day, I will smell like the great outdoors, and I honestly don't know if I can live with that."
"Being you is so hard, isn't Ava?"
"Thank you for acknowledging my suffering. I really appreciate that." The pair started laughing until they were interrupted by Malfoy and his incessant complaining.
"How do I even open this thing?!"
"Oh my gosh, Malfoy. Maybe if you pulled your own head out of your ass for once you would know." He just sarcastically smiled at Sarah's retort and Sarah smiled right on back at him.
Sarah and Ava settled on a stone wall towards the back of the clearing where class was being held; they were not looking to do any work or answer any questions if they could avoid it. That's the good thing about a new teacher. They don't know what they are doing at all on the first day. In the span of five minutes, the class was interrupted for the second time that day by Malfoy going on and on about something along the lines of Hagrid is terrible and wait until my father hears about this. Suddenly, Harry felt all bold and told him to shut up. Ava, being an instigator, yelled out, "Fight!" Sarah instantly threw her hand over Ava's mouth as Harry and Draco began a stare-off.
"Dementor! Dementor!" Everyone whipped around except Draco and his friends as they all popped up their hoods in unison as if they practiced it.
"Malfoy! Do you practice that in your mirror every morning or just this morning?" Sarah tilted her head to the side and raised an eyebrow.
Malfoy, ever the gentleman, replied, "Do you practice being a bitch in your mirror every morning or just this morning?" Draco walked forward, towering over Sarah's sitting form as he leaned forward and placed one hand forward on the stones and used the other to bite into a green apple. His eyes were practically burning into hers as he scanned her up and done for what seemed like years on end. For once, Sarah had no reply, but Hagrid unknowingly took care of this foreign feeling in Sarah's stomach.
"Draco, Sarah! Detention tomorrow!" Draco and Sarah both began to spew excuses and point fingers at each other, but Hagrid was not having it.
Ava leaned over to Sarah and said, "So much for new teachers being clueless." Sarah just plopped her head onto Ava's shoulder as class officially started.
Everyone's attention was drawn to a hippogriff that stood in front of their eyes. Hagrid described the hippogriff as everyone watched with wide eyes. Harry, clueless as ever, didn't notice when everyone else was backing away quickly. Sarah basically ran backwards into Draco who gripped her arms as she almost fell. For one moment, their eyes caught each other's before Sarah shoved him away and remarked, "Watch where you're going, Malfoy."
He replied, "Only if you watch where you're going, Lennon." Sarah rolled her eyes and watched as Harry was the first to be called on to handle the hippogriff, much to his dismay. Everyone watched in tense silence as he crept up towards the hippogriff and bowed to the creature. Sarah could see Hermione flinch when Harry accidentally stepped on a branch. Of course, everything turned out okay for Harry as it always does.
Sarah was suddenly pushed to the side and looked over to see Draco spreading out his arms, pushing everyone around to get a closer look at the creature. His teeth sunk into a perfectly green apple for the second time that class period. For some reason unknown to Sarah, she could not keep her eyes off of his lips. He caught her eye, but she quickly turned her gaze into a harsh glare.
Everyone, except Malfoy, started to clap when Harry succeeded at the task; they all watched in fear and excitement as Buck Beak and Harry rode off into the air together. After a few moments of the pair being in flight, Hagrid whistled into the air to call Buck Beak and Harry back to the ground.
Draco, not being one to be out-staged by the likes of Harry Potter, confidently strutted up to Buck Beak, shoving people out of the way. He stomped up to the hippogriff claiming, "You're not dangerous at all!" That was one of his less intelligent ideas.
Buck Beak jumped into the air and pushed Draco down to the ground. His arm and robe had been cut as he lied on the ground, withering in pain.
"The sad thing is, Ava, I can't tell if he's really in pain or is just being dramatic."
  "Would you care either way?"
"No, but I might feel a bit guilty if he's actually in pain, and I made fun of him for it." Ava just shrugged as they watched Hagrid calm down Buck Beak and lift Draco into the air, carrying him to the infirmary.

During study hall later that day, Pansy was all over Draco as he talked about how he was so "brave" when he was injured by "the beast."Sarah and Ava, who were just a few seats down, looked at each other and started dying laughing. Pansy, being as nosy as ever, whipped her head towards them and snobbishly inquired, "Is something funny?" Of course, this only made Sarah and Ava laugh harder, bringing them nearly to tears. Pansy rolled her eyes and turned her attention back to Draco, caressing his injured arm with as much delicacy as she could. Of course, the delicacy was coming from Pansy, so it was roughly as comforting as being stabbed in the eye.
Ava slid down the bench, leaning over Blaise Zabini to talk to Pansy. She looked Pansy straight in the eye and snarkily told her, "You know, Pansy, I heard that people who ask too many questions, butt into other people's conversations, and use up all of other people's shampoo wake up bald. See you later roomie!" Ava slid back down, still not breaking eye contact with Pansy, to the bench that she and Sarah sat at. The sole reason Ava broke eye contact with Pansy was so she could high five Sarah. She sighed in delight, mischief sparkling in her eyes and a proud smirk painted on her lips. "Screwing with Pansy never gets old. Her responses, even though they are almost always an undignified scoff, remain hilarious to me and the great people of this nation." Sarah and Ava joined in laughter and tried to focus on their class work. Their focus barely lasted ten minutes let alone all of study hall.

enjoy!!
