Chapter 40

Michonne whips her katana out and runs out the gate. Carl, and Rick run to one tower while Carol and Daryl run to the other. I run down along the fences and distract walkers while Beth stays and starts shooting walkers from where she is. 6 minutes later, the whole field is cleared, the gate is shut, locked and secured. Everyone comes down from the towers and smiles at each other.

We got all of our things into Cell Block C. I haven't slept in 5 days. I barely talked to Carl yet because we have been so busy, securing the place and making sure it's safe. All of us have been on our feet a lot. My feet and ankle are swollen, and they hurt pretty bad. We found the informatory. It had lots of medical things we need. We got lots and lots of food from the cafeteria too. We are finally done. Able to take a break.

I carry my stuff into a cell. It's pretty clean. I set it in the corner of the room, taking out something's that ill need everyday. There are huge shelfs inside each cell, with 10 shelfs on it. I put my shirts on the top with my jeans, socks and underwear on the second one down. I put my pills, hairbrush, and toothbrush on the third one down, along with a few other things. I hide my journal under my shirts. I put some baby things on the floor beside the shelfs. I leave my female things inside of my bag. I stand on my toes and feel for anything on the very top of the shelf. I feel something but I can't grab it. I struggle to climb onto the top bunk, but finally do. I look on top of it and see two hunting knife and 3 guns, with ammo in it and some around it. I grab it all and leave the cell. I see Carl and Rick talking. Daryl and Carol are talking also. 'Are they a thing?' I ask myself. I shrug and walk to Michonne. "Look what I found." I say.

"Nice." She says,grabbing it and putting it with the other guns and ammo. "Taylor, be ready."

"What?" I ask, confused, holding my belly.

"I'm getting ready to do a group meeting. Rick told me that I can hold one, but you need to stay in your cell and rest. I know you haven't had sleep in days, not have you eaten. Get food and water and take your pill, and relax. Sleep." She tells me.

"Okay..But why are you calling the meeting?" I ask her.

She sighs. "I'm going to tell the group about what has been happening with you." She informs me.

I sigh and look down, kind of. "Okay." I say. She hugs me and rubs my belly, like she always does. She hands me a water bottle, 2 nutrition bars, 2 cans of peaches and some sloppy joe in a can for protein. I smile small at her. I take it and go to my cell. I lay everything down on the bed. Carl enters the cell.

"Mind if I stay here with you?" He asks me, lightly laughing.

"No." I say and laugh a tiny bit. He sets his stuff down and hugs me, tightly.

"I missed you so much Taylor." He tells me.

I hug him back. "I missed you too. I wish we could have talked the past two days, but y'know, we've been busy." I say. He kisses me. I kiss him back.
"I love you." I mumble against his lips.

"I love you too." He mumbles back. He unpacks his stuff and puts it in the remaining 5 shelfs, like mine. I watch him, rubbing my belly as he swiftly unpacks. Beth comes in quietly behind us.

"Hey, Carl?" She says.

"Yeah?" He asks, turning around and facing her.

"Come on, Michonne is having a group meeting." Beth tells Carl. "Taylor is staying here." She adds.

Carl nods and kisses me, before leaving the cell. I kiss him back.

"How are you feeling?" She asks me.

"Okay. Tired and I hurt a little bit. But okay." I tell her.

"Alright." She says and smiles. "I need to ask you something later." She tells me.

I nod as she rubs me belly like everyone always does, and she walks out. I the only one in the cells. Everyone is in the cafeteria. It's so quiet. I take my pill and open the can of sloppy joe. I start to eat.
