Taliyah POV
I remember when my mother was alive, she told me that I would need to go through many people until I found the one for me. She said this because good people are hard to come by. That you can almost never find the right person the first time.
She would have her mouth on the floor if she could see me now. Only having been with one man and him being the one.
Sometimes, I wonder if she only said that because she didn't want to hint towards what I was. Or maybe she had assumed I would date people before meeting my mate but then she wouldn't be my mom. I am not the dating type at all. She was a smart woman.
Here I am Ma. Your daughter is getting married to the love of her life with a son and surrounded by the people she loves the most. Are you proud?
I look up at the sky and sigh. She better be looking down on this because dammit why did no one tell me I would want to kill everyone during this process. I rub my temples as I feel my body start to lose itself.
My wings start to grow and I watch as everyone moves away from me. I lift my head up and chuckle dryly.
" Let's just take a break for now babes. I need to go see my son."
I walk inside to see Daniel playing with Noah on the ground who is doing great by the way. He is such a cute, smart, and healthy boy. I have never been happier when I look at him. This is the time I need it the most as well. I lay down next to them and close my eyes.
I feel a tap on my butt and turn around to see Noah smiling that beautiful smile. He crawls on to my back and looks at my wings. I sigh and nod my head and he starts tugging on them. I groan and put my head on the floor. I literally came in here so I wouldn't be agitated.
Noah is growing a little too fast at this point besides his speech. He can definitely talk at this point but he refuses to. I grab Noah and put him on my stomach. I start flapping my wings slowly, causing a lot of Daniels papers to fly every where, and I start floating around the room with Noah laying on me. Daniel glares at me and I smile.
He fixes his papers and goes to work now that Noah is distracted.
I open the sliding door with power and float into the back with Noah still on my stomach. I sigh as I hear his giggle.
I float up to one of the trees and a bird fly's into his hand. He smiles and holds his hand out to show me.
" It's beautiful baby." We float back down to the ground and I feel like I should get back to work.
We're not even doing much. All we're doing is trying to figure out where everything should be. I thought this was going to be easy until I realized I had a knuckle head crew and they suck at everything. Like, how can you be some of the smartest fighters in the world but you can't figure out where to put the seats. The clearing in the middle of the forest is where we're having it but we're trying to figure out everything here first.
On top of that, I am being dragged to a dress fitting today and I really, honestly, and truly, do not want to. I don't want to stand on some weird podium shit while they measure my body. It's weird and I'm scared of being touched a certain way. I also don't have a particular dress in mind so I have to chose one out of the ones they provide.
Becoming the bride is the worse part and I really wish I could skip over it.
" Taliyahhhhhh. Come on it's time for the fitting." I groan and walk sluggishly over to them and in response they scoff. They grab me roughly and pull me into the house and into Daniel and I's room.
