Sitting in the middle of lowlifes that couldn't wait to see two dogs tear each other part was not my idea of a fun Friday. Dogs fighting Dogs was not something that I personally could stop, even though I hated it, but when a roomer is being spread through the packs that a werewolf is fighting in them, that is something I can and have to stop. Evey Alpha came together in a meeting last week to discuss the matter and I was elected to be the one to check it out. I grumbled in frustration as a sweaty, oversized guy squeezed by me and proceeded to drop his beer, causing his drunk and foolish self to bend down and pick it up, his backside right in my face. I sighed in relief once he was gone and was able to re-focus on the barbaric arena in front of me.

The announcer said something about a delay, causing people to shout curses in his direction as if he had any control over whatever was happing. It was only twenty minutes before the announcer came back on and introduced the challenger and then the reigning champion. They gave the first dog's name but did not do the same for the champion, the so called "Mut from down under" when they said feral I just rolled my eyes, thinking that these morons didn't know the first thing about being feral. They opened the metal doors that were both on each side of the arena, the challenger came charging out like his tail was on fire, but the "mutt" hadn't left the chute. I was confused at first until I saw it slowly stalk out into the open. My eyes widened as I took in the size of the so-called dog and knew instantly that this was the wolf I had been waiting for.

Even from this far away I could tell that she huge and built, riddled with muscles, but I could also tell she was malnourished, her ribs being easy to count. I watched as she avoided the attacks thrown her way with ease. The challenger got a nip in on her tail and instantly her snarls grew louder and if I was not paying as close attention as I was I would have missed how her eyes quickly flashed a bright red, a clear sign of a feral wolf. In two seconds flat after that, the challenger was on the ground as blood poured out of this neck where the wolf had ripped his throat out. I kept staring until she finally felt my eyes on her and looked back at me, her own eyes a blood red, but the moment she did, I knew, she was my mate and she was feral.

Sadness passed over me and I could tell she saw it as she cocked her head to the side slightly, her attention fully on me until a whistling sound came from next to the door she came out of, then her attention went there and she walked off, lapping the blood of her muzzle and squeezed her large form into the tight space as a man claimed over the wall that inclosed her and attached a chain leash to her and lead her away. I quickly got up and pushed my way through people until I was down on the ground level, where fans were not allowed. I looked around and caught sight of her tail disappear around a wall and struggled to follow without looking suspicious. I caught up in time to see them shove her into an old and dirty cage that was way too small for her. Her handler, I assume, left and I thought about my options. I could get her out now and risk getting caught, or I could wait and bring in my pack and kill every last one of these foul people.

I didn't get time to decide on what to do, because her handler came back and had another man with him. clipping the chain back into her I realized she had on a metal collar; I followed and they lead her to a different room and saw as she started to shake in fear, she tried to hunker down to the ground in the doorway, but the other man gave her a hard kick in the rear, causing her to scramble into the room, but I couldn't see what was happing. The door closed behind them and I heard muffled talking, and even my sensitive hearing could not make it out. A few minutes later her handler left the room and I had to quickly duck back so he would not see me, then I heard the yelps of a wolf in pain, and the fact of knowing that it was my mates that the yelps were coming from caused my blood to boil.

I hated to leave her there, knowing she was in pain, but I also didn't know her state of mind of how she would react. I needed to be smart about this and come in with reinforcements, not to mention the other Alphas would not be happy if I acted before conversing with them, the 'others' meaning my father.

I was walking into the office room and into the meeting that was supposed to be held tomorrow but could not wait. My father sat in the back, not technically an Alpha anymore, but he was still aloud in since I permitted him to be.

"We have to act now," I started as soon as my feet entered the room, "a werewolf is fighting in the dog fights, but not on her own will."

"We can't act now, it's short notice, we can go tomorrow." I turned my attention to the man sitting to my right as I tried to keep my temper in check.

"We are going now," I said through gritted teeth as a growl escaped me. Alpha John, the one that spoke up, growled back, angry at the disrespect I was showing him.

"Get your boy under control, Adam." He looked over at my father who has an amused look on his face.

"John, old friend, you know I have no control over him anymore. Besides it, won't do any good to try and do so if it means keeping him from his mate." The room went silent and even my growling stooped. How did he know? Adam laughed and playfully slapped me on the shoulder.

"I've seen that look in a young wolf's eye before, son. I'm honestly surprised you left without her."

After that, the group still complained about the short notice, but I was done with them. I had waited too long as it was by now. I left the room, Adam right on my heels, sensing what I was about to do.

"They are not going to be happy about this, Austin, you know that right?"

"I know." But it was time to bring her home.
