The man took in a deep, rattling breath as blood coated his throat, before speaking: "First and for most, I assume I should tell you my name, Carson Ware."

"I don't care who you are that is not what I asked!" I snapped, getting impatient, my wolf begging for his blood. Carson gave me a look of annoyance, before dropping his head back down in submission.

"About nineteen years ago, I got into the dogfighting business. The first few months every mutt I put in died instantly. I was losing money and patience, so one day, while I was hunting in my wolf form I came across a She-Wolf, her scent was strong, and instantly knew that she was a strong wolf with a high position, and that was with the pup," I packed around the small room as he told his story, my eyes never leaving him, as he shook his head, "I was desperate and knew that it could get my hands on the pup-" he stopped as he had to spit blood from his mouth and onto the stained floor, causing my anger to flare as I remembered the room my mate was kept in.

"I knew that if I could get my hands on the pup," he continued, "I could make myself a real winner. So I waited and stalked the she-wolf until the day she gave birth. That night when they put her in the crib, I broke in and took her, she was still in her animal form, having been born that way. As strange and rare as it was, it made it easier for me to train her like a dog and not have to force her to shift, having to remember the child's face. I could forget what she was and make her what I wanted. A winner. A champion. A fighter-"

"A killer," I added from my spot in the dark corner. He stiffened at the sound of my voice but nodded slowly all the same.

"One could say that, yes." His voice showed emotion, no sign of regret for what he had done.

"Who was the family you took her from?" My question was only answered with a shrug of his sagging shoulders.

"Dont know, dont care. All I know is that they were powerful enough to breed and pure breed feral." His head snapped back as I gripped the back of his neck, my lips pulled back in a snarl.

"Never speak of what is mine like that again." My voice shook with power and anger. He chuckled. He freaking, chuckled. I growled in pure anger and threw him across the cell, still tied to the chair, only for it to break as it hit the wall. He grunted from the impact but found his way to shaky feet all the same. He looked at me with his blood-covered face and smirked, his hand-held out to his sides in surrender.

"Careful Alpha. Wouldn't want to kill the only one that knows how to control that fleabag of yours." Red was all I saw as those words left his mouth. I had his head slammed into the wall before I knew what I was doing. I let go and he slumped to the floor, blood seeping from his head. I breathed through clenched teeth and turned to my Beta who looked just as mad as I was.

"Clean this up, and make sure he doesn't die, we need more information from him." I turned to leave, my stride fast and focused as longing to be with my mate doused of the fire of my rage, like sweet summer rain.

Walking into the hospital, I struggled to pick up her scent. The blood, dirt, and waste that coated her masking the amazing smell that I knew must be underneath. So instead I followed the smell of snickerdoodle that belonged to Shar.

Finding her at a nurse's station, I wasted no time in approaching her, worry clear on my face. She looked up as if she were expecting me and gestured to follow her off the side, which I did without hesitation, standing just outside of a closed door.

"The X-rays showed that her leg is broke, along with three of her ribs, I have them wrapped and her leg cast," she hesitated for a second but continued as she realized she would have to tell me eventually, "we also had to do emergency surgery due to internal bleeding and while we were at it I removed her collar, but I placed it back on her af-"
