RYDERS POINT OF VIEW
I thought today was going to be normal it was a Friday, the end of the week. I thought I was going to go to work and then come home, play video games, and then go to bed, but nooooooo. Nothing can ever as planned.
It all started going downhill when A got brought into the principals. We don't have any parents but sense I am their guardian because I'm 18 so I got pulled from class to deal with it.
"So would you like to tell your brother why you are here," the principal said.
A turned to me, her blue eyes glassy. I know she felt bad that I got pulled out of class.
"I refused to answer the teacher," she said
Ohhhh ok phew I thought it could've been a lot worse, this isn't the first time she's been to the principals because of it before.
"Yes," the principal said.
I knew the principal was scared of me.
"You brought me out of class for this?!" I yell
Aurora touched me on my shoulder.
"I'm sorry, I will speak more in class," she said.
I got mad because she had to apologize for something she can't control, because if she talks too much her voice will fluctuate sense it's not naturally masculine.
"Yes, but this isn't the first time it's happened, you've said that exact same thing before." He continued.
"OH MY GOD," I yell.
Before I can start my rant Aurora juts in.
"I'm very sorry, this time I will make sure is the last time," She says.
"You better, because the next time will be the last time," The principal says.
"What do you mean," I say.
"I mean that the next time this happens she will be expelled." He states
Before I can absolutely loose it, Aurora quickly thanks the principal and pulls me out, surprisingly strong.
I give her a hug and say goodbye and head back to class. The second thing that made this day shit was Luke wanted to come over today to hang out sense he's never been over. What was I going to do say no?! So I texted Adam and Tom with our personal group chat and said Luke's coming over. Then I went to the family group chat and told Aurora that a friend was coming over and to make herself scarce. I hate doing that to her but it is for her own safety.
This the icing on the cake Aurora tells us about what she knows and what she's done. I am absolutely livid. I would never punch her though, our father did enough of that.
"WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!" I yell.
She flinches, whoops.
"Go to your room," Tom says.
She bows her head and heads to bed. Luke follows her with his eyes.
"She cannot be like 'symbol' of the rebellion. People already know that women still exist, and people still don't want to rebel. I forbid it," I say.
Tom nods in agreement. Adam has his head in his hands. He probably feels like it's his fault.
"She can't go to school anymore." Adam says.
Surprising us and himself.
"How are you guys going to keep an eye on her then?" Luke says.
We think.
"She could stay at base?" He suggests.
"No because what if it is attacked," I state.
"Prince Malum is also going to be here soon, looking for his Queen. Apparently word has gotten out that the women have escaped and he is livid, hopefully they've all crossed the border by now, no country has dared challenged New America because of its vast weaponry, but when word got out of the women escaping the neighboring country's said they could seek refuge in their home land with some conditions." Luke says looking at the ceiling.
"What do you think we should do," Adam says.
"What if she went to school, that way we can keep an eye on her all the time." Tom says.
"Well what should we do when we are at work." I say
"I could look after her." Luke says. A little to eager.
"Ummmmm." We all say.
"If it's ok with you guys." He quickly says.
"I guess but don't you have a lot to do?" Adam says
"Well her in I are in all the same classes so we could do homework together and the rebellion I handle at night and my mom left as a great sum of money so I don't have to work," he says.
"Ok so it's settled?" Adam says.
"Yes," Tom speaks up.
"Ok so she's going to school, then she'll walk home with Luke and Luke will leave when we get home and I'm going to move her to my room," I say.
They all nod in agreement. So we get up and I knock on her door and open it. She's sitting at the desk, drawing. We all enter and Luke looks over her shoulder.
"Damn these are really good Aurora," he says
"Thank you" she says shyly.
We tell her our plan.
"I am not yours to look after!!" She shouts, after we finished explaining it too her.
"What?" Adam says, confused.
"You look after me as if I am a puppy not yet house trained. I do not need someone to constantly be with me! I let those women go all by myself, I can defend myself!" She yells.
"NO!" I yell.
"You proved to us that we cannot trust you, you went behind our backs and kept this from us. We do not want you to get hurt. Prince Malum is coming to town looking for his Queen and if found you, we would never forgive ourselves." Tom contributes.
She sighs, knowing she has lost.
"You will be sleeping in my room, on the top bunk so get your stuff ." I say and we leave.Luke leaves as A gets her stuff together, we help her move it too my room and she hangs up her drawings and put things on the desk. We move the screen in as well. As we set it down she smiles to herself.
"What," I say.
"Oh nothing...this room has a fire escape." She says with a mischievous gleam in her eye.
"I know idiot that's why I got this." I respond as I pull out a combination lock for the window.
She huffs.
"Now go to bed." I say "Or I will take back all my clothes and never give them to you again." I finish.
So she climbs up, sighs dramatically, and lays down and faces to wall. God I love her.I leave the room to go sit on the couch. Tom and Adam join me after getting Toms stuff settled.
"How upset is she?" Adam questions.
I don't know how but he always seems to know what Aurora is feeling. Maybe it is a twin thing I don't know.
"She is very upset." I answer.
They all nod.
"Well it's for the best, right?" Tom says.
"Right." I respond.
