Chapter 10

RYDERS POINT OF VIEW

The week went on after the interaction with Prince Malum. I knew in my gut that it wasn't over but I pushed that feeling down calling myself paranoid. I haven't let A go to school so Adam has been telling the teachers 'Owen' has fallen ill and they gave him A's homework and wished him well. Luke has been coming over and keeping her company while me and my brothers work. I feel bad keeping her cooped up while we are allowed to do everything and anything but it's for her safety.

The door is bashed in and before I could shout at the guys for doing it I noticed it wasn't my brothers or Luke. 20 guys dressed in black armed to the tooth file in. My sister is wearing Levi dad jeans and a girly top because Luke was supposed to come later and she wanted to impress him.
"A go to your room." I try to command.
"That won't be necessary." Prince Malum strides in.
Aurora shrinks against me and I put my arm over her shoulder protectively while handing her my black hoodie that's 2 sizes to big for her. She thankfully understands and I let go of her so she can put it on. After she does I put my arm back and glare at the Prince. He has been watching the whole interaction with an amused expression. Before I or the Prince can say anything Aurora speaks up. Which surprises me because she wouldn't usually do that.
"I." She trembles but then takes a deep breathe and meets the Princes eyes.
"-will die before I go with you." She states simply.
I tighten my hold on her shoulder that my arm is wrapped around.
"And I will die before I let her go with you." I follow.
The Princes eyes darken with fury and hatred.
"Well that's great." He says sarcastically.
"Before I forcibly take you we shall wait for your other brothers to come, so you can give them a proper goodbye." He smirks.
Aurora hides her face in my chest. I go to take out my phone and the men that fill the room raise their guns in a flash.
"Chill bro chill I'm just getting my phone out." I try to calm them.
They lower their guns but remain alert.
I text my brothers.
Come home now tell the boss family emergency the Prince is here to take Aurora. I text.
On my way rn.
Running now.
They all respond immediately.
Aurora goes to take her phone out too but before she can unlock it the Prince strides over plums it from her grip drops it on the floor and smashes it with his heel.
"Can't have you texting others now can I." He laughs.
Tears come to my sisters eyes. She won't be able to say goodbye to Luke now.
"But but." She stutters.
"I have to say goodbye to my boyfriend." She gets out.
The Patience becomes livid.
"YOU ARE NO ONE ELSES BUT MINE NOW, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT." He shouts.
Then he slaps A across her cheek.
Now me her Adam and Tom have all played around and wrestled but number 1 we are her brothers, and number 2 we have never, ever hit our sister purposely before.
She stills, eyes wide.
I lunge at the Prince my fist connects with his cheek. His head snaps to the right and blood splutters out of his mouth. The guards rush but the Prince holds up his hand.
"Here is what is going to happen, she defy's me she gets punished and her family gets punished. You defy me and she gets punished. Clear?" He says his voice deadly calm.
"And if you ever, ever lay another hand on me you will never see your sister again." He smiles.
"Clear." He ends.
"Yes." I growl out.
Aurora nods.
"Words love." He tilts her head up with two fingers.
"Yes." She whispers.
He claps his hands together.
"Great now that that has been cleared up how long will it take for your family to get here." He says.
Just as he says that Adam and Tom stumble into the room. Before they attack I quickly say,
"Just listen to what he has to say." They stare at me in shock.
"Good Ryder." The Prince claps me on the back.
It takes all of my willpower to not kill him.
"Now that you are all here there are a couple rules. Number 1 your sister disobeys me she gets punished, you disobey me she gets punished. Number 2 you can see her once a month for lunch. Number 3 you will not try to contact Aurora here. Number 4 she is now mine, and no one else's. Number 5 she, or rather Owen is now dead to all people in her life like her teachers and other figures. Number 6 you will not speak of what happened here today and number 7 the most important one, break any of these rules and you will never see her again."  He finishes.
Aurora has tears streaming down her cheeks and Tom, myself and Adam looked shocked.
"Is this clear." He smirks. I stand handing Aurora off to Adam who shoved her in between himself and Tom. I get ready to punch that smirk off his face when I hear.
"Clear." Quiet as a whisper.
I didn't think anyone heard but the Princes smile grows and we all turn to Aurora.
"May I please have a moment alone to gather my things and talk with my brothers." She asks, looking at the floor.
The Prince strides over to her.
"Yes, but just because you're a quick learner." He looks down on her.
She turns but the Prince grabs her wrist.
"Just a quick peak on the cheek before you go love." He says.
She gets on her tippy toes and the Prince leans down and she peaks him on the cheek. The Prince turns around so quick she stumbles back.
"I'll be back in 15 minutes don't try anything because you know the rules." He states looking over his shoulder.
The men follow him out. I turn too Aurora my face red and if looks could kill she would be 6 feet under.
"Why. The. Fuck. Would. You. Do. That." I ground out.
"It is for the best." She answers simply.
She tells us to wait in the living room while she packs her stuff.

She comes out 9 minutes later with the suitcase, it's old one of the ones that don't roll and open sideways with latches on the side and it's made of leather. I look into the room behind her and notice she took all her clothes and drawings along with her supplies as well. She sets the case down and stands in front of us. She is wearing her jeans with my black hoodie.
"I love all of you, this situation is unavoidable now and you and I both know we cannot do anything but accept it now. Please don't give the Prince or his men a hard time now, I fear what the future holds if you do. Adam as my twin I have always felt the closets to you. You alway know how to make me feel better. As well as put a smile on my face. Tom I love you so much. Challenging me in sports and pushing me to my limits both physical and mentally. Ryder you have always protected me when people meet you they are scared of you but I know that teddy bear underneath that hard exterior. All of you have made a terrific family and just know I will be looking foreword to that lunch every month and I will never stop thinking of you." She says tears streaming and she hugs us.
We all hug her back.
"Aurora as my twin I think the same, you always give me the answers to the homework and you cook like a modern Gordon Ramsay. I will miss cheering you up and annoying you." Adam responds tightening his arms around her.
"Aurora you will always be my baby sis I will miss you more than words can compare yes I'll miss challenging you but I'll also miss your cooking and cuddling. You are the nicest person I've met." Tom chokes out.
"Aurora as the oldest in the family I've always been protective, assuming the role of a somewhat parental figure. My instinct is to keep you from the Prince but I too understand why this is unavoidable I will miss your understanding demeanor and cooking as well. You always know what I'm truly feeling and you've taught me I am more then what people think of me and my past." I say unwaveringly.
"I love you guys." She responds.
We have a group hug. Only to be interrupted by Adam.
"Hold on, hold on." He says racing to his room. Aurora laughs through her tears. One minute later he rushes back into the room holding something behind his back.
"So you guys might or might not be mad at me butttt I have a picture of all of us, just the family, I took." He says really fast.
We all laugh and he holds it up. The picture shows Aurora sleeping on Toms shoulder while Adam and I are plying a video game all squished together on the couch. A new wave of tears hits me but I have to remain strong for Aurora. She breaks out of my hold and rushes to Adam and envelope him in a hug.
"Thank you, thank you so, so much." She says. New tears following the paths of the old.
She opens her suitcase which mostly consist of all of our clothing and puts the picture in one of her drawing journals.

The Prince comes in not bothering to knock and pries Aurora out of our hug. She goes over to take the suitcase but the Prince holds onto her and waves for one of his men to get it.
"Great now that all that mush is out of the way you will come to Lunch at the Palace every 13th day of the month. If one of you breaks the rules you will not see her again." He smiles.
He takes Auroras wrist in his hand and pulls her out the door. Before it shuts she looks over her shoulder and smiles and waves.

Then the door slams.
