RYDERS POINT OF VIEW...

When I heard my sister screaming I thought it was finally happening, they are taking her away. I rushed to her room, fearing the worst. However when I got to her room I discovered she was just on her period. This may seem better but I knew trouble lay ahead. While my brothers were laughing I remained quiet.

It was my senior year of high school, thankfully. My brothers and I left after talking with A and telling her what was going on. She never knew about it before and she hadn't had anyone to explain it to her. While we were walking on the sidewalk, I began,
"This isn't good" I stated
"What, what happened?" Tom replied
"She is on her period now, that means we will have to get products for her, how are we going to do that?"  I told them
"Oh shit" Tom and Adam said at the same time.
"...we could get her diapers" I wondered out loud.
"But there aren't any that would fit her" Tom said.
"Fuck" was all I had to say.

All throughout the school day I wondered what I was going to do. She needed the stuff, there is no denying that. Toilet paper won't do. We have never told anyone about our sister. When all the females were dying we held a fake funeral for her and then moved to New York City. Figuring there was safety in numbers. We told everyone that A was Owen and he had a rare disorder that stunted growth. After a few years her face was becoming more feminine, one look at her and you could tell she was a girl. So we told people that his condition had worsened and now he needed to wear a face mask. No one questioned it, they didn't want to be rude. My brothers and I have tried to persuade her to cut her hair and stop going to school, but she says, "I am not changing myself just because of my gender," It was very annoying. We got in this argument almost everyday. However, now things have changed. Her period came...and for the first time I had no idea what to do.

My brothers and I work at our local grocery store, go to school and run with the rebellion, fighting for a better future for A. A wants to work too but it's too dangerous. At least she agrees to that. On our way back to the apartment I ran into our friend Luke. He is 2 inches smaller than me but he runs the rebellion, I've always wondered why but I don't ask. I'm his second in command.
"Yooo what's up Luke," I dab him up in greeting
"Hey bro, what are you doing out here at night," he responded
"Oh we work down the street, you?" I say
"Oh there is a fight going on down the back alley for some money and prizes thought it would be entertaining." He laughs, "so who are you guys" he looks to my brothers. They are in our troop and Luke knows their names but they have never formally met.
"Yo I'm Tom," Tom says.
"Hey what up I'm Adam," Adam states.
"These are my brothers, and you know Owen, he can't work."
"Nice to meet you guys," Luke says, "Sorry to hear about Owen, tell him I say hi," he finishes.
"I will," I won't but I will not say that.
"What are the prizes by the way?" Adam juts in.
"Oh um...I think they are money, food cards, feminine products-" He begins,
"FEMININE PRODUCTS" Tom shouts.
Seems I wasn't the only one thinking about A today.
"Ummmmm chill" Luke reply's, laughing.
"Why feminine products" I say.
"Because apparently if you get them women will come too you and then like you can get them and stuff." He says "It's kind of stupid and I think everyone knows that cause you only have to win one fight for them."
"You know what, we will go with you," Adam says out of the blue.
Both me and Tom nod in confirmation. We have to do this for A.
"Ok lit follow me," he agrees.

At the fight it is a sorry scene scrawny men against litteral trucks. This is what society has become now. We are sorry human beings, nothing but a group of hormonal, testosterone controlled men. Anyways I enter a fight for the products no one wants to go against me I'm 6'7, I don't blame them, I'll do anything for my sister. After the hour no one comes up so the moderator just gives them to me giving me a weird look. To cover my tracks I say
"I saw this 5 minute hack were you stick them in your armpit sleeves and it prevents sweat stains."
He widens his eyes and says
"Ohhhhhhhhh"
I nod. Heading out I find my brothers cheering on 'The Gladiator' I tap both of their shoulders and they spin. They see me and smile. The crowd is loud so i motion them to come and point to the exit. They follow me and I wave to Luke as we leave.

As we were walking home I felt someone walking behind us, I didn't say anything to Tom or Adam but I think they felt it too because they started to speed up I made eye contact with them and we start running, down the street up the stairs and right into the apartment. We locked the door behind us. When we burst through the door we scared A. It was kind of funny not going to lie. However we didn't say anything. We explained what the products were and she nodded, told us where the dinner was and went to the bathroom.

When we made sure she was asleep we went into the kitchen.
"Guys I do not know what to do," I started
"Yeah, it is getting more dangerous for her," Tom said and Adam shook his head in agreement.
"Should we stop her from going to school?" Tom followed up.
"No, she enjoys going to school and if we take that from her she will be so sad. I wouldn't want to do that to her." Adam said.
"Well then what should we do?" I began.
"I have no idea," Adam answers.
"It is our duty to help her, to protect her, to love her. I would die if anything happened to her." Tom stated We nodded in agreement.
We all looked at her bedroom door. None of us knew what the future held, but it has got us scared shitless.
