A few days had passed since the wedding, everything had been cleaned up and the backyard looked like it did to begin with. Which made Esme very happy.

Theo had gone on to buy more plants, which also boosted Esme's mood. The two of them worked for days to find the perfect placement for the plants. Walking around the house, Theo's arms were full of potted plants, as they debated back and forth about the pros and cons of a certain spot.

Carlisle had gone back to work, leaving the rest of us alone in the house. He almost always came back with a new and exciting story. He spent most of his free time helping Esme with her architectural endeavors, or researching and catching himself up on the newest medical breakthroughs. He always made time for a few chess matches, although he did tend to lose more than win, but he did so graciously and with a smile on his face.

Esme fluttered around the house, checking in on all of us and making sure that we didn't burn the house down. She liked to play chess with Jasper, and was pretty good at it, winning a few games against him. She spent most of her time tucked away in her office, happily drawing up the plans for the next house, which, according to her, was going to be the best one yet.

Rose continued to fix and work on the countless cars that were parked in the garage. Coming up everyone a few hours to play a game of chess with me or Jasper. On a rare occasion, she sits down and plays at the piano, her skills almost on par with Edward's, a fact that she loves to remind him of any time they play together.

Emmett and Jasper were often found sitting in the living room playing video games, which usually resulted in Emmett smashing the controller when he lost, which was all the time.

Other times, Jasper sat in the corner and read a book, or practiced playing chess with anyone that he could. He also kept a close eye on the newest battle and fighting tactics, reading any and all papers on them as soon as they came out. Not only that but he started up another college course, this time working on getting yet another philosophy degree.

Whenever he wasn't playing video games, Emmett tended to spend his free time doing something physical. Hunting and wrestling with the wildlife, then proudly telling everyone about it. Or challenging anyone in the house to play chess, adding his own complex rules to the game which, oftentimes, led him and Jasper to arguments over what the 'true' rules of the game really were.

Alice spent her free time shopping. Often bringing back huge amounts of bags, claiming that the clothes that we owned were 'out of style' and saying that we needed new up-to-date clothes to 'match the time'. In an attempt to convince Esme and Carlisle to let her continue her never-ending shopping sprees, she started to predict and invest in the stock market. Needless to say, Carlisle and Esme couldn't really find a reason for her to stop, especially when she brought in so much money from her investments- which always ended in a large sum of money finding its way into the family's bank account.

I, in a surprise to no one, decided to stay in my room, keeping to myself and painting to my heart's content. This sudden- but very welcome- isolated time in my room caused me to create dozens of new paintings, all of which Esme proudly hung up around the house. There were a few times that Rose sat with me, happily being a model for me as I, in return, happily listened to her talk about whatever came to her mind.

There was even one time that I was able to paint Carlisle and Esme, of course, that was a day that Carlisle had gotten off of work. That painting, in particular, was hanging up in the hallway where, in Esme's words, 'everyone could see it, and enjoy the beauty of it' as they passed.

"Really it is amazing!" Esme said, beaming at the painting. "Dare I say it is your most beautiful work thus far!"

"You have to do a painting for me and Emmett next," Rose said, sighing wistfully as she gazed at the painting.

"I have offered," I say, chuckling as I glance over at her. "But Emmett was not able to sit still for long enough."

Rose hummed and nodded her head. "Ah yes. I do remember that... we were almost done with it, right?"

"That's just what I told you guys to make it feel like the time passed faster," I confessed. "Honestly, I wasn't even finished with the initial sketch..."

"No wonder Emmett left," Rose said, chuckling as she crossed her arms.

"I think that Alice and Jasper are going to sit down for me next week," I muse softly. "Although I think that Jasper is going to bring one of his history books... although, now that I think about it, that's probably how Alice got him to agree to sit down for so long."
