"You did what!"

"It really wasn't that bad," I offer, biting my lip as I watch Esme's eyes widen even further.

"Wasn't that bad? The Stanley's house had been covered in eggs! I thought that you were all over this stupidly idiotic phase!" Esme screeched. "I gave you all some leniency on the Mallory house, I mean, maybe- just maybe- it was a fluke... a random idea that you rambunctious bunch came up with but I never ever thought that you would do this again!"

"We didn't-"

Esme scoffed and rolled her eyes. "I don't care! Chief Swan is now having to decide if he is going to look into this! Do you know how much trouble you could be in?"

"It's not like they would ever find out who it was," Jasper says simply, not even bothering to glance up from his book.

"That's not the point-"

"Esme," Carlisle stepped into the room and offered his wife a reassuring smile. "I'm sure that they all know that this won't happen again... right?"

We all slowly nod our heads in agreement, albeit some of us more halfheartedly than others.

Carlisle nods his head in approval. "Good... problem solved. No need to get so worried about it now. It's been done, and we can't do anything to take it back, we can only focus on what's in front of us, and yelling at them- I'm sure- will only encourage them to do it again."

"Just... don't do it again... please," Esme said, shooting us all a pleading glance before walking out of the room with Carlisle.

"You're getting... better," I say half-heartedly, watching in amusement as Bella just bit her lip and glared at the heels.

"I don't even see why I have to wear them," she muttered. "It's not like anyone can see my feet under the dress."

"Alice wants you to wear heels," I reply simply. "So you're going to wear heels. Unless you want to argue with her... days before your wedding?"

She just bit her lip as she focused her attention back towards continuing to try and walk in the tall heels.

"That's what I thought," I mused, smirking as I reached over and grabbed a magazine from the side table, quickly pulling it open and mindlessly reading it.

I let out a soft sigh as I leaned against the back porch railing.

The backyard was covered in plastic bags, which were overflowing with flowers and decorations, and the benches were still being placed around the venue by the family. The wedding arch and the path to the arch have already been outlined and approved by Alice.

Esme, who was quickly given the title of 'Manager' by Alice, worked at a small table to help direct people where to put all of the different decorations that Alice had ordered.
