the sound of pots and pans clanging together was what awoke el the next morning. normally, she'd be annoyed at the noise, but knowing mike was in the kitchen cooking up something, she couldn't stay mad.

el glanced over at the clock which read 8:35am and groaned, wondering why mike was up so early.

she peeled herself out from under the blanket which was half on the floor and trudged out of the living room and into the kitchen.

"morning sleepy." mike chorused, not turning around but carried on plating up some freshly made pancakes.

"morning." el replied back groggily, still not completely awake.

"hungry?" mike asked, turning around and smiling the sight in front of him.

el was stood in the doorway, her christmas pyjama top was half off her shoulder and one trouser leg was higher than the other. her messy, tied up curls which had mostly fallen out were covering some of her face as she smiled and nodded shyly at him.

"well that's good coz...i made pancakes!" mike said in a sing-song voice, smiling and pointing to the plates which were piled up with the big pancakes.

eleanor giggled and moved her hair out of her face before she walked towards him and got a glass out of the cupboard next to him.

"how'd you sleep?" el wondered, filling up her glass with water from the tap.

"okay, though my back is definitely paying the price of sleeping on the sofa two nights in a row." mike let out a small chuckle as he carried the plates over to the table.

"alright, grandpa." eleanor playfully rolled her eyes as she helped him carry over various items.

"oh ha ha, i'm glad my pain is amusing to you. and to think i got up extra early this morning to make pancakes for you." mike pouted.

"i'm only teasing." el chuckled at his silliness, a feeling of warmth spreading throughout her body, he had made the pancakes just for her.

"i know." he winked at her as he took his seat.

el froze. she swore she felt her knees weaken at the sight, but she quickly cleared her throat and sat down opposite him.

"wow, you take pancake making very seriously." el giggled, admiring his efforts of displaying all the different toppings on the table.

"that i do." he smiled, reaching for the sugar.

they sat and ate, discussing the plans for the day. though, el didn't find out much as mike was very secretive about it all.

what el didn't know was that on the first night they met, mike stayed awake and wrote a long list of places he wanted to take her. he's been adding to it here and there but he had planned all the main places on the first night.

if his friends were here they would be smacking him on the arm and saying how he's such a sap for doing all this for girl he's only just met. he knew they would be right, but there's something about her that makes him want to drop everything, take her to all his favourite places, and share all his favourite things with her.
