"Guys c'mon stay focused!"
Indigo screamed at her friends. She was extremely nervous and they weren't helping with it.
"Calm down girl. Everything's all right."
"Decoration?"
"Here." Dylan pointed at it.
"Cake?"
"In the fridge." Jack pointed at the back of the cafe.
"Boys?"
"Should be here any minute." Ben answered looking at his wristwatch.
"What if they're late?"
It was her boy's birthday and she wanted everything to be perfect. Also, their first year anniversary is close and she decided to celebrate both together. She brought all the decoration, all the food and the cake. She called his high school best friends. She even involved his parents. Liz and Andy were supposed to take Luke out for his birthday while his brothers are taking his shift. Boys, Dylan, Jack and Ben were in charge of hanging the decoration. Girls, Keily, Abigail and Indigo were in charge of arranging food. Basically putting chips and sweets on table.
"And Michael Clifford's in the house bitches."
Screaming voice made all of them jump. Dylan almost fell from the ladders. Three boys were entering the cafe with smiles on their faces. Indigo felt relief they came before Luke.
"Told 'ya" Ben said.
As Jack's pone beped they all stood on their places except the Ben who ran to grab a cake.
"Surprise!" they all screamed including Lukes parents when tree of them entered the cafe.
Luke stood in one place unable to move. He didn't know what to say. Everything was looking so good. And then, there three of motherfuckers was. They told him they couldn't come. He was really surprised.
"And?" Andy asked.
They were all waiting Lukes reaction. Luke looked at his parents and then his brothers and friends.
"This is the best birthday ever!"
And they all started cheering. Luke started hugging them one by one happy he's surrounded with these people.
He was standing in front of his mates with his hand around Indigos waist.
"Weren't you supposed to be at uni?"
"You have an incredible girlfriend mate."
"You did all of this?" Luke surprisingly turned to Indigo.
"With a little help, but yeah."
"You're the best, you know?" Luke asked her leaving the kiss on her forehead. She turned so she could look at him.
"I love you." He said before kissing her.
"Lovebirds enough. The cake is melting."
They were all standing around the table singing birthday song for Luke who stood in front of the cake. The cake was sea themed. It had few shades of blue, like the ocean. There were few rocks in sand made of biscuit. Some sea animals were around on cake. And at the end, there were two cookies, the ones he always put with Indigo's order for their anniversary. All of that put the biggest smile on Lukes face. He blew candles wishing for more days like this...
...
Few hours later the squad was sitting at the beach. Liz and Andy stayed at the cafe so all three of the Hemmings brothers could go.
"She splashed glass of water right in my face."
"I thought you were the one who hit my bum."
Keily and Dylan were telling the story how they met. Well, each other was telling their side of the story.
"The saddest part of the story is that Abigail hit Keilys bum."
They all laughed.
"Hey! I never thought she'd splash a guy." Abigail said in defence.
"At least that was beginning of a beautiful friendship."
"That's right." Indigo agreed with Dylan.
"Did Luke told you we were in a bend?" Calum started another story.
"Why would he. We suck mate." Ashton said.
"You should play for us." Indigo suggested knowing how good Luke sings.
"Yeah, so we can tall if you're suck." Keily agreed.
"You sure?" Calum carefully asked.
"Of course."
Michael grabbed Lukes guitar and slowly started playing.
"I need your love to light up this house..." Luke was the one who started singing.
"That's.., that's beautiful." Keily was the first one to brake the silence when boys finished.
"You wrote that song?" Abigail asked almost crying.
"Four of us, yeah" Calum answered.
"But we still suck."
...
"Have you ever thought about staying in a band?" Indigo asked Luke that night.
Two of them were lying in his bed. They were all cuddled up talking about the day.
"Yeah, not gonna lie." He answered mowing few pieces of hair from Indigos face, "But I'm kinda glad I didn't."
"Why?"
"'Cause then I wouldn't met you."
"You'd be famous, able to have any girl you want."
"I probably could. But they wouldn't be you."
"Why am I so special?" Indigo asked after few kisses not understanding what Luke sees in her.
"Let me see." He kissed her.
"You're beautiful.", "Kind.", "Caring.", "Amazing.", "The best." He was saying between kisses he left on her lips.
"You're not so bad yourself, you know."
"Really?" He asked.
"Yeah, and you know what else?"
"What?"
"Your eyes are like the ocean."
They both laughed.
"I know, right."
