Verah
I'm currently trying to avoid getting shoved around through the hallway as I make my way to the exit, and I'm doing pretty well... until I bumped into her. April O'Neil... the one person I despise in this school. Normally, I just avoid talking to people altogether and stay away from everyone, but with O'Neil? Let's just say we have some history. Her father got mine killed in a lab explosion a year before my mutation and had the guts to blame it all on him instead of taking responsibility for his death. Ever since that day, I've hated any and every O'Neil.
I knew that she knew I hated her guts, but she acted like she didn't know why. That's what really ticked me off. I let out a low hiss under my breath as I glared at her and stood before her and her little boyfriend, Casey Jones. Jones' old man used to be a cop before the accident, and was really into hockey... you could tell just by looking at his cave-mouth. He was probably missing over six front teeth. They both blinked at my hiss, but glared back nonetheless.
"Verah..." she said.
"O'Neil..." I spat. "Get out of my way. I don't have time for you."
"You're the one that ran into me."
I bit back the urge to bite her (I know, ironic choice of words), and stood to my full height as I glared at her. I was taller than her by about a couple inches because of my mutation. I was able to make myself appear bigger when I felt threatened by stretching my bones. I know what you're thinking: 'that's gross'! Well, actually it isn't when you think about it. What's gross is shedding scales every few months after I've transformed a few times too many.
"Get out of my way." I hissed menacingly. "Before I make you."
She stared into my eyes for a moment before I got annoyed and used my hypnotic glare to make her move. Her eyes glossed over as she stepped to the right and I bumped her shoulder roughly as I passed, snapping her out of my trance. I would've stayed and had some fun, but I promised Mr. Murakami I'd get back before dark so I could help him clean up the front of the restaurant today. He wanted to do a little rearranging and needed my help, since I kinda understood his ideas when he explained it to me.
It's now been two years since I moved in with Mr. Murakami and I've gotten my mutation under control for the most part. The Purple Dragons stopped picking on the restaurant after a few weeks of me kicking their butts. I tried to make sure they paid for messing with the old man when I wasn't there to help him.
One night, I'd been out walking around and decided to check in on my family like I usually did every once in a while, so I headed up to the rooftop across from the apartment and watched as they talked happily. I'm not a creep, I just wanted to see if they even missed me at all. They didn't... they even turned my old room into a storage room! Ugh!!
Anyway, when I'd returned to Murakami's, the place was trashed and he was gone. I'd gone and tracked his scent down to an abandoned building where a fight had obviously taken place. Scuff marks were all over, broken bits of metal from weapons and bits of roof parts, ninja stars scattered everywhere, and a bunch of unconscious Purple Dragons. I hissed and lunged at the one who was starting to wake and forced him to tell me what they did to Murakami. He told me that he was rescued and probably back at the restaurant by then.
Dropping him hard on the ground, I rushed back to Murakami's to see that he was cooking something. I inhaled and licked my lips when I realized it was pizza gyoza. I went inside just as he set the plate down and I hugged him. I promised him I'd make sure they never messed with him again after that.
