Taylor lets out a huge breath of relief she hadn't even realized she'd been holding when the director exclaims, "That's a wrap! Great work, girls!"
After exchanging a few hugs and taking pictures with whoever had been around her, the singer rushes back to her dressing room. She's completely exhausted and makes a mental note to never wear this shoe brand again– if feet could talk, hers would be screaming in agony.
All she wants to do is go back to her hotel and jump into her pajamas, but there is probably a 0% chance of that happening. She's scheduled to go to the traditional afterparty at TAO Downtown once the show ended and there's no way she can back out, especially after Lily cornered her during rehearsal and insisted she had to come.
Taylor throws her shoes across the floor and takes a long swig of water, refreshing on her dry throat. She could use a few minutes away from all the chatter and uncomfortable heels.
The singer relaxes into the chair and pulls out her phone, getting ready to dial her mother, when a loud knock on the door interrupts her few moments of peace and quiet.
"Tatatatatatatatatatatatatataylor!" Cara's voice.
"Taylor!" Another female voice, Lily it seems, calls.
"She isn't answering," says another girl, most likely Martha.
"Maybe she's not in here." The voice is less familiar, but she knows that it's Jourdan Dunn, another model she met tonight and almost melted into a puddle because of her beauty. Taylor ignores them at first, feeling slightly guilty, but can't she have at least 60 seconds of relaxation? Is that too much to ask?
"I'm pretty sure I saw her walk this way..."
Karlie's voice. Taylor internally rolls her eyes at herself as she opens the door– not because she knows Karlie is standing right outside of it. That's stupid.
"What took you so long?" Lily asks, furrowing her perfectly-shaped brows.
"Sorry, I was trying to call my mom," Taylor apologizes sheepishly, glancing at Karlie. She is, as always, smiling.
"If you don't hurry up, you're going to be late to the party," Lily says with a playfully scolding expression. "It'd be no fun without you, you know."
The singer smiles at her friend's comment, though they'd probably have plenty of fun without her. "I know, I just have to call my stylists to fix me up then I'm good to go." She pauses and looks at everyone's faces awkwardly. "You didn't all have to come to see me. I feel so special."
The models giggle thankfully. It would've been extremely uncomfortable if that joke had fallen flat.
"Sorry, it was just me who was going to come but then Karlie insisted to tag along, then the rest of them came too. But don't worry about it, all of us are pretty much ready anyway," Lily explains, gesturing to their perfect outfits and flawless makeup. The singer swallows, suddenly feeling very underdressed in the presence of the models, and very warm at the mention of Karlie wanting to see her.
