💖 No proof, not much, but you saw enough 💖
Somehow not a single person spots the singer and the supermodel as they jump out of the SUV. Starbucks is pretty much empty when they walk inside, with only 1 barista at the register and 2 other customers tucked in the corner. They're so enveloped in their laptops neither of them even look up.
"Very normal, right?" Karlie says, glancing at Taylor somewhat nervously.
"Oh yeah, besides the two guys with headsets following my every move," the singer replies dryly, throwing a look at her bodyguards. Neither of them seem to get the hint. There aren't any threats in this Starbucks besides slipping on a puddle of water near the restrooms, do they really need to be this close to her? "But seriously though, this is actually perfect."
Karlie chuckles and runs a hand through her tousled hair again. "Do you want to order something and I'll grab us a table?"
"Sure." They separate after Karlie tells the singer her order. She slowly shuffles to the register, noting everything in her mind in case she forgets. She tries to pretend like she's not in awe, but it's so hard.
No one is asking for a picture. No one is sticking a camera in her face. There isn't anyone asking when she'll release a new single or which song is about Zac Efron. (Spoiler alert: None of them.) It's all very refreshing and she's never been more thankful that she decided to come with Karlie.
"Hi, what would you like to order?" the barista questions politely when Taylor is finally close enough to the register. She can't help but feel slightly overdressed in her thousand-dollar dress and layers of makeup.
"Um..." She bites her lip again, scanning the menu above the barista's head. She really should've decided on something before coming over here, it's been much too long since she's bought coffee by herself. She can't even remember ever ordering something from Starbucks before, believe it or not.
"Wow, you look a lot like Taylor Swift," the barista notices, staring at the singer's face.
"Really? Thank you," Taylor replies happily, not taking her eyes off the menu. She doesn't recognize any of the drinks, noticing that most of them have the most unnecessary and complicated names. After an awkward 30 seconds, she picks a random one under the Hot Coffee category.
"Uh, I'll take a Blonde Vanilla Latte."
"Short, tall, grande, or venti?"
"Who's that?"
Taylor knows instantly she said something dumb from the way the barista's brow furrows and the bubbly laughter coming from behind her. Karlie is doubled over in her seat, gripping the edge of the table so she doesn't fall on her face. It's the most adorable sight paired with Karlie's contagious laugh, so of course Taylor starts giggling too, shaking her head.
Ordering Karlie's drink isn't as painful since she had been informed that short, tall, grande, and venti are apparently cup sizes. It makes absolutely no sense.
"Why can't they just use normal names, like 'large' or 'medium?'" asks Taylor as she blows on her freshly-made coffee.
"But the fact that you thought they were people's names..." Karlie begins, but can't even finish her sentence before erupting into giggles. If Karlie had been anyone else, Taylor would surely be glaring daggers at her, but she's way too cute for that.
