📖 The story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now  📖

"Taylor, you can't just live on your couch and ignore all your problems forever."

Abigail is standing over her with her arms crossed tight against her chest, a disapproving frown sitting on her downturned lips. Her tone is anything but soft– in fact, it's so commanding that Taylor actually debates sitting up from her spot on the sofa and finding a pack of earplugs.

"Actually, yes I can just live on my couch and ignore all my problems forever," the singer mumbles back as she pulls the blanket closer to her neck. She swallows through her dry throat once she notices how raspy it sounds and croaks out again, "According to Tree, I have a good month until I have to attend any dumb award show that just wants me for views."

"How do you manage to be literally depressed yet still have an ego bigger than this ridiculously-huge apartment?" Abigail complains, looking even more disappointed by the second. "Aren't you supposed to be the sweet and modest singer?"

Taylor lets out an irritated groan. "I really don't care anymore."

"Yes you do, come on." Abigail determinedly rips the blanket off her body, but ends up flinging it to the ground with a small shriek. "Um, do you realize how crispy that thing is?"

"Yes, as a matter of fact, I do," she grumbles, shivering at the loss of warmth.

Abigail frowns again, watching Taylor making zero moves to get up off the couch. "Okay, you need to get up and shower, Tay. Seriously. You can't just lie around and be sad because Karlie caught you cheating."

Taylor scoffs, offended. "Dude! I wasn't cheating!"

Abigail lifts an unconvinced eyebrow. "I'm pretty sure it was something along those lines though, right?"

"Well. Sort of." Taylor sighs, shaking her head as if that could get rid of the horrid memories from all those days ago. They are the last thing she wants to think about right now, which is also very inconvenient because they are the only thing she can think about right now– but what did she expect? She finally got what she wanted, but then she messed it up in the end. Classic Taylor.

"Okay. Here. I'm going to be super honest with you." Abigail takes a seat on the other end of the couch, pushing Taylor and her fuzzy cat socks off the edge with a small grunt. "You really messed up. Like, really bad."

"Wow, thank you for that," Taylor mutters, staring at her hands.

"But that doesn't mean your life is over. You can fix this. Or, you know, try to, at least," she softly explains, her voice tentative. "Relationships always have their rough patches. It's totally normal. How do you think Matt and I survived all this time? We're not perfect, but that doesn't mean we're going to break up."

"Yeah, but you didn't cheat on Matt," the singer mumbles.

"And you didn't cheat on Karlie," Abigail pointedly says. "Well, not directly. I mean, technically it was Gigi you were cheating on." Taylor throws her a look at the added detail, but Abigail continues, paying no mind to it. "The point is that you can still save your relationship with her. Or, if you can't, at least make an effort to be friends."
