Song - Ghosting by Ariana Grande (in honor of her new album and because it fits the vibe)
Third Person
'Eternity' is perhaps a sandcastle collapsing weakly before a calm wave.
Dreams.
They were Imogen's only escape from reality. The reality of her boyfriend missing for over a year, her mother attempting to murder her, and losing the only mother figure close to her.
In her dreams, everything was perfect, and the way it should have been. Every day, it seemed harder to wake up and continue on with life. Last night, she had a dream of being on a picnic with Lucas, admiring the sunrise together.
They ate bite-sized sandwiches while laying down on their checkered blanket. Both of them stared out into the sky, calling out names of what the clouds appeared to them. They both laughed, making fun of each other's answers. It seemed magical until the sky changed to black and the wind picked up, ruining the picnic.
Suddenly, Lucas started dissolving into the sky like little particles breaking away from him.
That's when Imogen jolted from her slumber and tightly gripped onto her sheets. There was no way she would be able to fall asleep after watching her boyfriend disappear again. Her eyes stared up at her sticker stars, shining brightly above her possibly the only pleasant thing in her life.
Every second, she craved his touch again, his voice, his smile, his everything. What I would do to see him again even for only a second.
Streaks of sunlight poured through the cracks in the binds. She exhaled, dreading was to come today. Imogen stretched her arms over her head, letting a yelp escape from her lips. After stretching, she walked to the bathroom and stormed into Rebel's room. He was wrapped like a cocoon in his blanket hiding from the sunlight.
Didn't he say he worked early this morning?
Imogen walked over to his curtains, pulling them open and having the sunlight burst through the room. Rebel groaned, shifting the blanket over his eyes back into darkness.
"Rebel, it's eight didn't you have an early shift this morning?" Imogen asked.
"Shit!" He groaned, quickly unwrapping himself from the blanket and rushing towards the bathroom.
Imogen snickered, shaking her head before exiting his room and out to the hallway. Suddenly, she felt a vibration in my robe, reaching into the pocket revealing a lively Frankie calling.
"What are you doing at eight in the morning?" Imogen asked, shuffling down the stairs, and with every step, her ducky slippers squeaked.
"Just shopping for your party later and no you're not allowed to bail out!" Frankie insisted, walking down the street with five shopping bags on her wrist.
"I didn't even have a choice in the first place," Imogen answered, reaching the end of the steps.
"You would have said no if I asked you! Which is why I went out of my way to plan it anyways," Frankie chirped, shifting the weight of the bag towards the back of her arm. "Besides, I didn't only call to talk about the party. Did Rebel mention the new information?"
"Why? Did he find something?" Imogen quickly answered. Her eyes widened along with her heartbeat rising steadily.
"There was a new attack reported in Silkbreak. It's the third one this week in Michigan," she informed.
"And are you sure it's connected to Red Corba?" Imogen asked, nervously nibbling on my bottom lip.
"Yes. . .but doesn't mean that it's Lorenzo," Frankie admitted, not wanting to get excited over nothing.
