Third PersonOutside was nothing but moon speckled darkness, but at least it was not the kind of utter blackness that swallowed a person whole, it was instead a shadowy world painted in grey-scale. The moonlight was the only companion they had to keep themselves from tripping in the blackness of the night sky.
Even with the help of the moonlight, Imogen tripped over the bonds of branches, sending her straight to the ground. Robert and Drew turned around, eager to help her when the sound of footsteps emerged.
"Be quiet," Drew whispered, bringing his fingers to his lips.
Imogen peeked forward, realizing the deranged witch was only inches away from her. Without notice, the witch latched onto Imogen's neck, sending her straight to a tree, the pain immediately surging through. Imogen's eyes widened in terror trying to comprehend but the lack of air increased the stakes.
Drew started throwing rocks at the witch hoping it was enough to get her off of Imogen. However, it hadn't worked and he was forced to go with his insane plan of making himself bait. Drew dashed with his knife, plunging the witch in the abdomen but within seconds it was inhaled by her.
The witch released Imogen and shifting her gaze over to Drew who was carefully backing away. "Come get me, bitch," Drew taunted, seizing the knife Robert launched at him and ran. Imogen coughed her lungs out trying to regain her breathing. Worried spread through her like wildfire when she watched the witch following behind Drew.
"Come on, let's keep moving," Robert said, extending his hands for Imogen to use.
"We can't leave, Drew," Imogen expressed, heavily breathing.
"He can handle himself. Let's move," Robert insisted.
"No, he's not protected by Violet's spell like we are. I'm the reason he's out here, to begin with," Imogen explained, starting to go down the path they went.
Robert harshly grabbed her shoulder causing a yelp to escape her lips. "Stop being stubborn! I'm the reason he's out here. I told him where we were, and I'm telling you to keep moving. So for the last time, let's go!" His voice was laced with outrage; he couldn't risk losing her especially right after losing Daenerys.
Imogen glanced at the path, gnawing on her bottom lip, and her eyes filled with concern. Why did he have to interfere with the witch when she was the one with regeneration powers? She hated feeling unsettled and her chest overflowing with emotions. How was she supposed to go one without knowing if he would okay?
"Come on, Imi," Robert shouted.
Imogen sighed and ignoring her better judgment she followed behind Robert. Suddenly, the ground caved in causing Imogen to tumble in the process. Imogen's body slammed into the trees and sharp pain radiated through her head. The fall wasn't as bad as the time when she was captured but it still wasn't ideal.
Imogen opened her eyes noticing there was no light shining from the moon and no Robert insight. Cautiously, she used her hands to hoist herself up when an intense pain shot through her hand. Imogen whimpered, tears escaped her eyes as she took a deep breath before turning her trembling hand over.
Glass shards were merged in her skin. Imogen bit her lip, drawing blood from it while slowly removing the pieces. It took a few attempts before she managed to extract all the pieces from her raw flesh. However, something Imogen didn't know was possible happened.
Her skin didn't repair itself.
The blood oozed down her wrist like rain pouring down a windowpane.
