Third Person
"Hi, we are here to report a murder that occurred in Locust lane a few days ago," the reporter announced, trying to keep her trembling hands from dropping the mic.
"It was reported to the officers just a few hours ago, and they have confirmed the crime to have been a homicide. Two young girls Gabriela and Lyra Woods were sadly found brutally stabbed in the house right behind us. The police confirmed that the bodies were found ruthlessly ripped apart. After being ripped apart, the killer had attached their bodies back together and leaving them sitting on the couch."
The crime was reported only two hours ago, and GSY the biggest news anchor in the city were called down immediately. Nia Hall was put on the case and was forced to work a late-night shift to document the case. She eased her stress with a cup of tea, her fifth cup for today. The cup wired with caffeine however once she reached the house her stomach knotted up.
"The officers have enough evidence that they believe the serial killer Red Cobra is back. However, sources claim that it's possible to be a copycat attempting to be the next Red Cobra but we can't ignore the similarity in the case."
Red Cobra.
Nia couldn't believe her ears when they mentioned the infamous name. Red Cobra hadn't committed a crime in years since the early two-thousands. The media assumed that the killer was reaching old age and wasn't healthy enough to commit more crimes. Red Cobra's signature move was to rip the body's apart only to put them back together like a puzzle.
The murders got so high even the Council stepped in with cash reward for any tips to lead to the killer. But we can never trust the Council; they always know more than what they let on.
This case hit Nia really hard since her twin sister was murdered by the Red Cobra and still hasn't received justice. Her camera crew stopped filming for a few minutes allowing the makeup artists to retouch Nia's makeup. She found herself gnawing on the inside of her cheek as she stared out at the house. Soon the taste of blood filled her mouth.
"Ready?" Her crew asked, waiting for her thumps up for approval.
"Yeah," she slowly nodded, swallowing the lump in her throat.
"For as of now all clues lead to Red Cobra being the killer. Make sure to call the number on the TV if you have any information revolving around the Red Cobra. More details on this case will be reported later today," Nia finished, waiting a few seconds before moving away from the crime scene.
----
It was a very old house, the design made it obvious. The door in the center, a square window divided in quarters on each side of the door. The investigator opened the door slowly for the fear of breaking it. He stepped onto the damp wooden floorboards, and surprisingly managed to hold his weight.
As he continued down the hall leading to the living room, he noticed the floorboards covered in the victim's blood. He called over his team urging them to gather blood for the evidence. Cautiously, he walked closer to the living room waiting to reveal the horrendous crime committed.
A muscle twitched involuntarily at the corner of his right eye, his mouth formed a rigid grimace. With arms folded tightly across his broad chest, he tapped his foot furiously staring down at the two young victims.
Both their eyes screamed horror and displayed how violent the final moments of their lives were. Their hands were interlocked together with the blood dripping down their fingertips. Both of their heads were twisted to the side like the killer wanted to play a sick joke. The poor young ladies seemed to be celebrating a twenty-first birthday and the banner hanging on the wall was evidence of that.
Something caught his eye; a blond strand of hair lying on the couch blatantly obvious like the killer wanted to give a clue. He pulled a ziplock bag from his pocket using it to grab the single strand of evidence.
The investigator pulled out his notebook, writing down the important clues in the crime scene. Unintentionally, one of the team members bumped into the body sending the right woman's head falling to the ground. He glanced up from his notebook, noticing the blood oozing from the head. Only for three seconds could he stare at the rolling head unable to touch it since it was a crime scene
"Do you think the Red Corba is back?" someone asked, snapping pictures of the crime.
"Haven't you heard the crimes all around the state? I'm sure the Red Corba is back and is killing as many people as he can before disappearing again. How many bodies have been reported over the past two months?" another injected.
"Around Sixty bodies so far," the investigator answered, rubbing his stressed temples. "Hopefully, this is the last one."
"You're being too hopefully, Mr.Webb," another commented.
He was right; Mr.Webb was being too hopeful and was going to be in for a long haul.
