Inside than what comes out in words"

Myung-He's pov

Mr. Hoseok is no longer alive!

"How?!"

"The police said it's an accident from the short circuit, one of the workers found his body all burned in the fire on the top floor."

He was just fine when we talked with him last time. He died on the same night as Park Jimin. Too many similarities to consider his death as a coincidence.

"And there are people who witnessed him getting inside the dormitory yesterday, but who thought he would come back dead!" Mrs Jung sighed deeply as if she was also going through a shock.

I don't want to eat anymore, I have lost my appetite. I put the spoon back and gulped down the water. If Gguk wasn't with me I was sure I would cry in front of Mrs Jung.

Somehow we managed to get back into our room.

The whole ordeal looks like someone is taking revenge. It might be my false intuition. I might I'm thinking too much, not like dead Kim Taehyung coming and killing people Right? What if it's Jeon Jungkook? I had seen him wandering around once.

"Myung stop crying, it's not good for your health," Joengguk's soft voice brushes through my ears.

"It's their karma, one must get paid for his deeds on the Earth, don't you think so?"

"I can't."

"You can't, what baby?"

I don't know why I feel the pain, I have only seen him once and there is no reason for me to feel so miserable. Hugging Joengguk close, I tried to forget about it.

"Gguk it's so hard to forget, why must it have to be like this?"

Past is a drug and for me it's addictive. I can't forget about my past with Taehyung, even if I'm with Jeongguk in the present.

I think I'm stuck with him.

"I don't know, sometimes it's good not to Know the answers"

I looked back at him sadly. The discoveries we made had brought suffering. But Jeongguk kept his silence and calmness. That silence of his, it's complex.

"Please help me forget Gguk" I said, before he embraced me in his warmth.

From the day we come back to school, the lady who serve in the canteen, Mrs Yoo Jung was strangely seems very affectionate. The way her eyes glistened with fondness always confused me. I had seen it and mentally took notice of the way she is caring towards us.

"You are acting like we come back from death," the words had slipped way faster than I intended.

We two were sitting on the usual spot enjoying the evening wind with the food that Mrs Jung was forced on us. Rarely did she get time to sit and chat with us but that day she joined our table too.

Her eyes saddened a little. "You may think my brain has stopped as I get old but let me tell you kids something I was keeping to myself all this day."

Jeongguk and I shared a look of confusion.I had a feeling where this conversation was going. My mind is a spoiler.

That knowing things before hands, you couldn't really bask in the thrill of finding it, knowing it. It's as if reading a book and watching a movie for the first time.

If you know what's to come you couldn't really enjoy it.

"I started working here at a relatively young age. Bangtan was more like a home to me. I think it's my time to take a rest after a while"

"You are retiring?" I asked her.

She hummed, smiling at both of us with fondness. Her gaze fell to Gguk's face and she pulled the grey hair back to her ears. She emitted warmth. She watched him and her dim eyes seemed to be recollecting her memories.

"You Jeongguk, reminds me of someone I try to forget. could you wait for a moment?"

Jeongguk nodded in agreement watching as she left the table. What was that? Why does she make a strange statement out of nowhere?

Once she was gone I asked, "Gguk Is it what we think it is?"

"Maybe. Looking at her age and what she had told me now she must know someone who looks like me" Jeongguk said.

"Is it really-?" I wanted to ask but Mrs Yoo Jung chose that time to come back . She was carrying something wrapped lovingly in a brown blinded diary.

Mrs Yoo Jung sat down on the chair opposite of us."I never thought that I would be showing this to someone after all this time."

She gently opened the pages.
Inside it was yellowed paper. They smelled of old books maybe due to the time it's been stored inside and a few old coins.

"What's this?" I asked, pointing at the paper. There were numbers in faded blue ink on the paper. Little smudgy but readable if you focus a bit.

"Someone gave me this and these coins as he lay dying. He said he wanted me to call this number."

"Where was the number for?" Jeongguk asked with baited breath, already having a feeling about the answer.

My heart was racing too.

"I never knew. The phone was broken and when I tried from here it never went through no matter how many times I tried."

"That's because the line was burned in the fire and it couldn't get through"

I said as a matter of fact but Gguk slapped my knee and I instantly closed my mouth. In the excitement I forgot what I'm talking about and she looked at me with surprise.
