“And into the forest I go
to lose my mind and find my soul.”

Myung-He's POV

Next day evening we were together in my room.

"Hey Myung, what do you think? I can't relax for some reason." Asked Jeongguk.

"What do you mean?"

Jeongguk sat on my bed "About the sequence of events. It's a bit too much for a coincidence right?"

"What is?"

"The rain."

"Yesterday too it only rained around here. And it was after seven o'clock and it only rained for about ten minutes. Like it was being repeated like a scene from a movie."

"But nobody could just make it rain at the same time the same amount." I said. I was confused.

"I know that. But while we were getting soaked last night I thought it felt the same as the night before. The rain smelled the same or something. If I'm right and the same thing is happening at the same time like a movie being played then it might be possible to see that incident ."

"You mean the incident where the man gets abducted?"

"Yeah. You have witnessed it at seven o'clock. Last night at the time of the incident we were a few kilometres away So we have no way of knowing that the incident didn't happen again."

"Do you hear what you're saying?"

"It's a mystery so let's check it out."

"I don't want to," That would mean maybe meeting the ghost again.

"Seeing lights in buildings where nobody lives, having weird dreams and then going on my own accord to see a ghost? That's beyond my limits."

"It's not like we'll talk to him. Just watch."

"You're saying there's that much difference between the two!?"

Jeongguk just nodded his head. "Just think about it like watching a movie."

"Movies don't come and talk to me!."

"You don't have to worry so much. Just relax. It's not like an image could do anything to you."

"But it did! It talked to me!."

I wish you would just listen to me some.... He had to cut it just by the kiss at that. Atleast let me finish it. I smiled to his kiss and wraps my arms around his neck.

We stood there on the side of the road by the woods, in the same place where I met that stranger. A few seconds after my watch hit seven it started raining abruptly.

I looked up at Jeongguk in astonishment. His gaze didn't waver from the view in front of him.

And just as I returned my gaze to the road the young man appeared. It's as if he appeared out of thin air.

He was running in the rain, completely soaked.

As I saw him again the feelings were indescribable. All I knew was that whatever I felt was overwhelming so much that my eyes burned with pricking tears.

He placed his hands like he is holding someone's shoulder to gain their attention, just like he touched me.

“What the-?”

Gguk turned towards me where I stood surprised and held a finger up to his lips telling me to stay silent.

The young man was facing the darkness and talking and walking the same as he had done with me.

Except this time there is anyone to respond. Nobody to touch. Maybe he saw whoever it was there. But not my ordinary eyes.

There was nobody there. Even so the young man ran for the road leading to the back of the academy.

He raced up the same way as before and  he was struck by a man from the dark. The young man fell over the road and I saw the bulky man dragging him from the floor just as he was steadying on the ground. It all disappeared.

"It's the same."

Everything about it.

The rain stopped as though it were the curtain being closed at the end of a play.

"I was right, wasn't I?" he asked me.

I nodded, "It's like you said, like watching a movie."

"So you didn't actually talk to that guy. You just responded to a 3D picture that was programmed to say what it did."

"Then you think this was somehow man-made?"

"Even the rain? Even with today's level of scientific advancement I don't think anyone could manage that realistic 3D image."

"So what was it?"

"I don't think it was a ghost though I think it would be more appropriately called an after-image." The realist said apologetically heading back onto the road.

But I believe the opposite.

It indeed was a ghost of a man.
