Your head hurt when you woke up the next morning, partly because of the drinks, partly because of the crying, and mostly because of the embarrassment. The memory slapped you in the face the instant you woke up and you desperately tried to force yourself back to sleep, anything would be better than this.

Last night after Draco basically abandoned you in the snowy streets of Hogsmeade, well past midnight, you had to figure out a way to get home. Your apparition was no where near as skilled as Dracos and, unfortunately you had been perfectly intoxicated, making it difficult for you to focus on any spell. Your wand was at home and you had no where else to turn.

Slugging back through the snow, you made your way back into the bar, scanning the counter for Dean. When you locked eyes with him the cheeky grin dropped off his face, instantly stopping what he was doing.

"I just need a lift back...is there any way you could help me?" You pleaded, feeling disgustingly helpless, making a mental note to never forgive Draco for forcing you through this.

Dean, of course, agreed, speaking to his manager and getting a short break to help apparate you back to safety. Unfortunately, he couldn't take you through the doors, leaving you on the pitch outside to get back to work, not without a strong and seemingly safe hug, though.

You felt good in Deans arms, your heart was aching and your stomach was spinning with anxiety and his embrace momentarily calmed the storm brewing inside of you. It felt honest and authentic as if he actually cared.

It took you longer than you were proud of to sneak back into your dorms, secret passages were useful, but you couldn't rely on them to avoid Filch's cat and spent an embarrassingly long amount of time hiding round corners and ducking behind statues. It was a god honest miracle that you didn't somehow bump into Peeves.

It was well past 2 am when you landed in bed, as quiet as a mouse, or so you had thought.

"How the hell did you manage to get back at 2am last night?" Pansy had plopped herself down on the edge of your bed as you lay there, eyes pinched shut, laying protest to the day "Did Draco apparate? He's been caught doing that before now, he ought to be careful"

You shifted yourself up with a cracked groan "yeah, he did"

You didn't really want to get into it all right now, but you also really needed to find someone to confide in- perhaps that shouldn't be pansy, but you weren't exactly spoilt for choice

"What do you mean, he did" she enquired, obviously intrigued by your agitated tone of voice.

"Tell you later?" You mumbled, rubbing your tired face with your hands; it felt like it was too fresh in your mind to maintain an objective perspective.

The abandonment- that was. The abandonment was too fresh in your mind.

The two of you got dressed into some comfy Sunday clothes and made your way out of your rooms to the common room, minding to collect some of the other for breakfast if they weren't already down there. The common room was quiet and before you saw Draco and Blaise sat hunched up in the corner, whispering like pre-teen school girls, you'd assumed it was empty.

"Boys!" Pansy shouted, about to make her way over before you grabbed her wrist hard, causing her to turn in shock.

You widened your eyes as if to say 'don't do it' and she retreated slightly, stepping back besides you with a confused but sympathetic face.

"Never mind" she mumbled, the two of you walking past the two of them and out the common room.

Blaise followed you with his eyes but Draco didn't lift his gaze from the pillow resting on his crossed legs- coward.
