Scott was nervous because today was the day that he was going to propose to the love of his life.
It was the 2015 concert and Scott was pacing back and forth. Mitch was a little late to the show because he had a doctor's appointment because he's been having really bad head aches recently.
Scott sat down on the couch and at that very moment Mitch walked in with dry tear stains on his cheeks.
Scott immediately got up and hugged him "hey, what's wrong?" Mitch shook his head "nothing..." Scott nodded and tried not to push him.
After a little while, it was show time. The Pentatonix members went to the stage and started the concert. Half way through Scott spoke and said "Hey Everyone!" He said to the audience.
Everyone cheered and Scott laughed "first of all I just wanted to say how obsessed with y'all I am. Second I have something...for Mitch." Mitch looked at him with a confused expression and Kirstie put a chair behind Mitch and he sat down as.
Scott then started speaking "Mitch, you are the love of my life, my soulmate, my best friend. When we first met I didn't know how much of an impact you would have on me. And I love you. So, so much." Scott then got down on one knee and the whole crowd started cheering "So Mitchell Coby-Michael Grassi...will you make the happiest man in earth and marry me?"
Mitch gasped as he saw the ring and he wanted to say yes, he wanted to scream and hug him and kiss him.
He looked at the rest of the band members gawking and smiling, he looked at the fans still as ever, eager for his answer. And then he looked at Scott. His lovely boyfriend who made his life so much better. Then he remembered his doctors appointment and started crying.
"I'm sorry" he said as he got up and ran off stage. Scott was left there while gasps were heard through out the auditorium.
Scott couldn't believe that just happened. Kirstie ran after Mitch and yelled "MITCH! WAIT!" Mitch stopped and was in the middle of a panic attack. She hugged him as he sobbed into her shoulder "I c-can't b-believe I just d-did that!" Kirstie rubbed his back "sshhhh. Mitch, what happened? I thought you loved Scott?" They pulled away from the hug and Mitch wiped his eyes "I do, I love him more than anything but-" he started sobbing again.
She was tearing up as well, watching her best friend this distraught "what is it, Mitch?" Mitch then looked her dead in the eyes "I have brain Cancer." Kirstie felt her heart stop "what?" Mitch wiped his tears "I just found out today, I had some tests done a week ago and I went to the doctor today and I got my results."
Kirstie started crying and she tried composing herself before she asked "how far along?" He sniffled "it's Stage 3." She sighs "but Scott-" he cuts her off "doesn't know...and I don't want him finding out...ever." she sighs "Mitch-" he cuts hers off again "I'll tell him if I'm still alive and well. I just can't face him now..." Kirstie sighed "when will you be back?"
Mitch shrugg's and that's when they hear a voice that Mitch knew he would miss "MITCH?! KIRSTIE?!" Mitch's eyes widened and he ran the opposite direction without Scott spotting him.
Kirstie came out of the hiding spot to see a tear stained Scott "I'm so sorry Scott." Scott and Kirstie hugged as Scott said "I don't understand what happened." Kirstie kept her word and never told Scott what she knew.

It was now summer of 2016 and Scott was still not over Mitch. He checked Mitch's instagram everyday hoping he would be active but he never was.
The last photo that was on Mitch's instagram was the picture of Scott and Mitch at the beach. June 2015.
Scott was laying down on the couch of his and still Mitch's apartment, when Kirstie came in and said "I'm Kidnapping you." Scott groaned "Nooooo." Kirstie sighed "yes, Scott. We have tour coming up and we need to re-arrange everything."
Pentatonix never got a new tenor in hopes Mitch would come back so arranging songs was difficult nowadays.
Scott sighed "fine." He got up and Kirstie clapped "yay, now get dressed." He rolled his eyes and got dressed.
At the studio they were an hour into rehearsal and they were on 'Cant sleep Love' Kevin spoke up "so I could do the rap part but who will do the high part that Mitch always did." Scott hated giving Mitch's parts away but he looked at Kirstie and said "you should do it." Kirstie's eyes widened "I can not but those notes fully, I'll croak."
Avi rolled his eyes "just try it." He hand her the sheet music and she opened her mouth to sing but then they heard that beautiful voice behind them "GIVE ME THAT CAN'T SLEEP LOVE!" they all turned around to see Mitch sing that note and Avi, Kevin and Kirstie ran to hug him.
Mitch laughed as he stumble back from the force of all three of them. Mitch made eye contact with Scott who looked hurt that he was back "hi." Scott looked down "hi."
It was quiet for a few minutes before Kirstie broke the tension "well I'm gonna go to get some food. Who's with me?" She started walking away and Kevin and Avi got the hint and followed her out the door.
"You're back." Mitch bit his lip as Scott said that. "Yeah, I am." Scott scoffed as Mitch sat down next to him. "Why are you here Mitch? We already filled up your part." Mitch shook his head sadly "no you didn't."
Scott sighed and went to get up but froze when he felt Mitch's hand in his. "Don't go...please, just let me explain." Scott looked down as he sat back in his chair.
Mitch took that as his cue to start explaining. Starting from when he came back from the doctors till finishing chemo.
By the end of it Scott had tears falling down his cheeks "why didn't you tell me?" Mitch shrugged "because I didn't want you to worry." Scott scoffs "you shouldn't have gone through that alone, Mitch." Mitch sighed "I'm sorry."
Scott sighs "do you...do you still feel the same way about me now before you left?" Mitch nods "yes, very much...do you." Scott kisses Mitch out of no where and says "I never stopped loving you."
Mitch smiled and Scott said "this might sound crazy...and maybe it is...but I don't have a ring at the moment but I do have you...will you marry me?" Mitch smiled and nodded "a thousand times yes." They shared another passionate kiss and when they pulled away Scott said "I love you."
Mitch snuggled into Scott and smiled "I love you too." Mitch then remembered how Pentatonix was rehearsing for their upcoming concert.
Mitch looked up at Scott and shyly asked "soooo...is there room for a tenor?" Scott smiled "we already have one...and he's a small, fierce, talented brunette who just became my fiance." They shared a kiss and from then on they lived happily ever after.
