"What are you doing here?" Roslyn questioned the woman as she moved in her direction.
Donna stood.
"I'm here to take you back home, to your family."
"Home? Family? The Hamiltons are not my family." Roslyn hissed softly. "And I am not going anywhere with you."
"Roslyn, don't make me get the police involved."
"Go ahead - call them. Once they get here you can explain to them how you turned a blind eye to the abuse I suffered, all so that you can make a name for yourself."
Roslyn watched Donna swallow.
"Wait - you're the case worker?" Felicity questioned with a glare painted on her beautiful face.
Donna looked from Roslyn to Felicity. "I am."
"So, you're the monster that continued to force this beautiful girl to stay with a family who not only mentally abused her but physically and sexually abused her, too!?" Felicity hissed before she could stop herself.
Roslyn ignored the looks of shock, anger, and disbelief on the Cullens' faces and kept her gaze on a nervous Donna. "The only way I'm leaving with you is in a body bag. I'd rather die than go back with you."
Donna swallowed as she looked around the room at everyone either glaring at her or showing clear disappointment.
"Roslyn, sweetie, I have a job to do and I have to bring you back." She swallowed and took a few steps in her direction but stopped short when Carlisle stepped forward, lifted his arm, and pushed her behind him. "Roslyn, please."
"She's not going anywhere with you, Miss."
"She has to." Said Donna. "She is a ward of the state and she's an underage runaway. She has no choice."
"Not if she's adopted here in Forks." Esme threw out softly, with a glare.
"You want to adopt Roslyn?" Donna asked.
"We would love nothing more, but she belongs with Felicity and her husband." Said, Carlisle.
"Yes! We will adopt her! She will stay with us." Felicity blurted quickly.
"My wife's right - we can and will adopt Roslyn. We have the space; we both work and we have enough free time where we can spend more than enough time with her." Daniel added.
Roslyn smiled at the two people she considered parents. "Thank you, so much, for caring about me," she said as she stepped around Carlisle.
Felicity closed the distance between them and wrapped her arms around her. "I love you, sweetie. We both do. You don't have to thank us."
"I'm afraid that's not possible," Donna said and interrupted their moment.
"Why not?" Daniel asked with a glare aimed at her.
"Well, for one both of you failed to report her missing. You knew she wasn't your child and I'm sure you knew that she belonged to someone," said Donna. "One of you should have done the adult thing and located her family or something to that nature."
Felicity turned to Donna and took threatening steps in her direction with an incredulous look on her face. "The adult thing? THE ADULT THING?! Did you do the adult thing and protect Roslyn from those monsters? Did you do the adult thing and get her out of that home? Did you do the adult thing and pull your head from your ass and report those monsters for what they did to her?" Felicity scoffed once she was close enough to smell her perfume. "The adult thing. You're just as much of a monster as they are. What kind of woman allows money to keep her from protecting a child?"
Roslyn stepped forward and took Felicity's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "She is not worth it," she said softly.
Felicity looked back at Roslyn before she turned back to a frightened Donna. "I promise you this: you will pay for what you've done. I will not rest until you are no longer responsible for the care and or wellbeing of children and are behind bars where you belong." She hissed. "Now, with all due disrespect, get the hell out of my house."
Donna quickly gathered up her purse and coat and made a b-line for the front door and out of it.
Roslyn stood beside Felicity, her presence a source of unwavering support. She could see the fire in Felicity's eyes, fueled by a fierce determination to seek justice for the harm that had been done. Together, they would ensure that Donna would face the consequences of her actions.
As Donna scurried out of the house, Felicity's voice echoed with authority. "Your days of manipulating and hurting innocent children are over, Donna. The law will catch up to you, and you will face the full extent of your crimes."
Felicity's words hung in the air, a solemn promise that would be relentlessly pursued. She refused to let Donna escape accountability, knowing that the vulnerable children in her care deserved justice and protection.
Turning to Roslyn, Felicity's expression softened, gratitude shining in her eyes. "Thank you for being here with me, Roslyn. Your support means everything to me."
Roslyn squeezed Felicity's hand, her voice filled with unwavering determination. "I will always stand by your side, Felicity. We will fight for justice together, and we will ensure that no other child suffers under Donna's care."
With a shared understanding and shared purpose, Felicity and Roslyn knew that their journey was just beginning. They would gather evidence, seek legal counsel, and bring attention to the atrocities committed by Donna. Their united front would make a difference, shining a light on the dark corners where child abuse thrived.
As they closed the door behind Donna, Felicity took a deep breath, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. She knew it wouldn't be an easy road, but she was prepared to fight for the rights of the innocent, to protect those who couldn't protect themselves.
"We won't stop until justice is served, Roslyn," Felicity declared, her voice filled with conviction. "Donna may have caused pain, but we will be the voice for those who have been silenced."
Roslyn nodded, her gaze filled with determination. "Together, we will make a difference. We will ensure that no child suffers at the hands of those who should protect them."
Hand in hand, Felicity and Roslyn embarked on their mission, ready to face the challenges that lay ahead. They were fueled by their shared belief that every child deserved love, safety, and justice. And as they took their first steps towards seeking retribution, their resolve only grew stronger, knowing that their fight was not just for justice, but for the future of all children in need.
