Keith's POV
Today Lance has been acting a little nervous. I don't know why, but he has been a little more stuttery, and a little bit more jittery than normal. He seemed like a 7th grader deciding to ask out their crush later that day.
"Hey, babe can I take you somewhere tonight? Like a picnic? Because I have something planned." Lance told me. He seemed very excited.
"Okay, what do you have planned?" His face seemed to fall into a nervous expression again.
"Now, that- that's a surprise. I can't tell you yet." Lance said with a cheeky smile that clashed with his nervous attitude.
"Awwe babe why not?" I asked in a whiney tone. Damn these stupid pregnancy hormones making me feel this way.
"But baby, it'll be better if I wait to tell you," Lance said wrapping his arms around me, rubbing my now 8-month baby bump.
I leaned into him, savoring the soft touching Lance provided me with. Then Lance slid his hands up to my shoulders, softly massaging them. It felt so nice, Lance hasn't done it in a while. I lean a bit more into him, fully enjoying this shoulder massage. Then suddenly, he scooped me up, holding me bridal style, carrying me to our room. Once we got there, he laid me on top of the bed. Lance started to rub my shoulders a bit more before moving to my feet. He rubbed them a bit, then moved to my swollen ankles. It felt nice considering that I had to deal with this 8 months prior.
I soon felt tired, and tried to close my eyes, falling asleep to the wonderful sensation, when "Hey, baby, don't fall asleep, we should find you something nice to wear for our date." Lance interrupted my peaceful state.
"But why? I thought the date was going to be later tonight." I was a bit annoyed that I had to ditch my sleep for a date. Don't get me wrong, I love that Lance is planning something special for us tonight, but I'm fucking tired all the time. And the baby is kicking more often than it used to, along with swollen ankles and cramps around my abdomen.
"Well, I wanted to be there all day and watch the sunset with you. It will be beautiful." Lance said softly, sensing that I was annoyed. He always spoke softly when I'm annoyed or angry at him. It made it hard to be angry at him, so he would comfort me.
I'm so grateful for him. He knows just how to make me happy, and knows all the spots that I love to be rubbed because it took away some of the pain. He knows everything about me, and I know everything about him.
He once told me that he loved Shakira because it reminds him of his family. Everyone, including his mother Rosa, his father, his sisters, Veronica, Rachel, and his sister in law, Lisa, who had become to be like a sister to him over the years. It reminded him of his brothers too. His brother Marco and Luis and how when one of her songs came on the radio or when one of them would blast it from their phone and they were in the same room, they would all start singing off-key. Lance had told me that those were his favorite memories.
"Hey baby, are you okay? You spaced out a bit." Lance said a bit worried, looking at me.
"Oh, yeah I'm okay. Just thinking about how much I love you." Lance smiled a bit and kisses my forehead.
"Alright baby, let's get you something to wear," Lance said while scooping me off the bed and into my feet.

Lance's POV
Everything is packed and ready to go. I brought everything necessary for a picnic along with comfy chairs for us to sit on. Keith and I had compromised to head over to the planet after lunch, instead of the whole day. And honestly, the closer it gets to us getting there, the more nervous I am to pull this off perfectly. We are in blue, following the coordinates Pidge sent us.
We finally made it to the planet, as close to the beach as we could. I unloaded everything, Keith tried to help, but I didn't let him. The sand we were standing on was the usual sandy color like back on earth, but it had a slight green tint to it. But the ocean, it was a color I couldn't even describe. It was no color like on Earth. It would make sense considering that we were very, very far from Earth. But it was beautiful nonetheless.
The beach reminded me so much of home. How I would always go out the furthest of my family, swimming through the waves. The warm sun beating on my back as I laid out trying to tan more than I already was. Those were the good days. But this day is going to be amazing. And the best day of my life is going to be when I marry Keith. If... if he says yes.
We had finally set up, but me, being the good boyfriend I am, hopefully soon to be fiancè, had done most of the setting up and wouldn't let Keith help due to to the baby.
~ a few hours later ~
Keith and I had fun on the beach, we relaxed in the ocean, sun-bathed, making sure to put sunscreen on of course. It had been a pretty laid back day for the most part, and the sun is starting to get closer and closer to the edge of the water, turning the sky various shades of red and orange, surprisingly just like earth. The time was getting closer, and I am trying to recite my proposal in my head. It took like a week, to come up with, but I wanted it to be as meaningful as possible.
The sky had begun to get darker by now, and the time is getting closer. "Hey, baby?" I asked.
Keith looked over at me, "Yea?"
I started to get up, the ring already in my swimming trunk's pocket without Keith knowing, "I want to take you out in the water one last time before we leave."
Keith looked puzzled, but getting up anyway, "Okay? I just don't want to get in too deep because it's getting cold and I already put on my pants." Keith smiled.
I took his hand, "We won't go in too deep I promise."
Once we got into the water, I took a deep breath to calm down my wildly beating heart. I stopped walking and looked at Keith, taking his other hand and looking into his eyes. "Keith," I breathed out, softly placing my hand on his cheek once he turned to face me. "We've been through a lot. Getting chosen to pilot giant mechanical cats through space, meeting two aliens, being thrown into war. Risking our lives every day. But I have to say, becoming your boyfriend and adopting Enzi, and," I placed my hand gently on Keith's baby bump, "meeting our very own baby, that we made, my very own child, has been the best part of all this chaos. My whole life. Just seeing your face every morning when I wake up is enough to make my whole world light up. Because Keith, you are my world. Seeing you happy is all that I want in my life. And I would give up anything that I have just to call you to mine forever. Call you my husband even if it is for just one day. I want to go through the ups, the downs, and everything in between. I love you, Keith. I always have, I always will. So Keith, will you marry me?" I got down on one knee and held out the velvet-covered box and opened it to reveal the ring.
The dim lighting from the sun going down and the light that reached us from our set up on the sand was casting a beautiful glow on Keith. I could see the tear tracks glistening on his cheeks, but I knew that they were from happiness by him sobbing out, "Yes, oh my god, yes Lance I love you so, so much." As a smile spread across his face.
I got up off my knee and slid the ring onto Keith's finger and hugged my new fiancè.
