We quickly run in the diner and Mama Rae sees us. She smiles and shakes her head at us. Once we sit at our usual booth, Mama Rae hands us our forks and pulls out her pad. "You guys are surrounded by this light. Whats happened." We looked at each other. We don't even know. "Just some feelings were made known today, I guess." She winked at me and walked away to grab us food. "Um, what are we exactly, Derric?" Derric paused and looked at me. I saw a different texture to his eyes and he smiles at me. "I guess in due time you'll find out, love."

We walked back to our dorm room and I bent over to take off shoes. Derric closed the door and pulled his desk chair out. "Tell me losing everything is what saved you. Tell me you finally tasted freedom. Don't lie. I see it in your eyes. Women lie to their mothers. Women do not know how to use their own voices and resort to things deeper. Don't lie to me." I smile and grab my towel to ring out my hair. "Is that from Hades's letter to Persephone." Derric smiles at me and agrees with me. I sit on the bed and look at him.

"Exactly right." He stood up and took off his shirt. I began to stare at the feather tattoo. It had parts missing that turned into birds. "What's the meaning of your tattoos?" Derric turned and looked at me. I looked at his face and then my eyes traveled to the rest of his upper body. "The feather of course is the girl, Caroline, the dragon tattoo reflects what I want to become and of course the Greek tattoo is from Hades' letter." He must have noticed that I wasn't paying attention cause he smirked and bent down on my bed. "Ms. Snow, are you distracted?" That whole response made my spine feel all tingly and I responded with a yes. He looked at my bed and his smile was sexy once he looked back at me. "Well, you've had a very interesting night. I suggest you get some sleep." He was right. I was very tired and ready to relax. Once we both went to sleep in separate beds, I turned to face the wall. I watched my eyes slowly close and I fell into a deep sleep.

Sleeping wasn't what I wanted to do and I was extremely bored. I turned over and saw that Derric was still asleep. I got out of bed and walked over to his desk. I opened a drawer and saw pictures, sketches, notes, but one thing caught my eye. Caroline's letter. I turned his desk light on and looked back at Derric and he was still asleep. I pulled it out and started reading it. "Derric, You've brought me happiness and pure joy. Yes, to answer your question, the baby's fine. Alex doesn't need to find out and he doesn't want us in his life. I have decided to leave college and head back home. Derric, even though I didn't love you as a soulmate, I do want you to find true and pure love. I hope she's just like you and argues just like you do." "What are you doing?!" I jumped and saw Derric sitting up and throwing the covers off. "I was looking at your pictures and sketches, then I found Caroline's letter. I'm sorry."

He walked closer to me and jerked the letter out of my hand. I looked down at the floor and he went to his bed. He sat down and ran his hand through his hair. "Derric, why don't you talk about her?" He looked at me and his eyes changed colors again. Brown. "Caroline was a friend after she went to Alex. He has hated me and blamed me for her death ever since." I got up and sat on my knees in front of him. "Have you given him the letter?" Derric shook his head no and I looked at the floor.

"She was someone I fell deeply in love with. You remind me of her. Only thing differnet about you two was she hated Mythology. Hell, she hated romance." He laughed and that's when his eyes sparkled. Derric looked at me and put his forehead on mine. "You, though, are something dear to me. You have given me a reason to laugh and love." His nose nussled mine and then he kissed me lightly. We decided to share a bed together, just for tonight. I must have sleeped in on Friday. I was excited cause I had no classes and I wanted to surprise Derric. I went to Mythology class and saw that he was talking to a blonde haired girl. She handed him something that was wrapped up and he smiled at it.

I tried to hide myself and watched them leave the class together. I followed them to the bench outside of our dormitiories. I hid behind the tree and listened to their conversation. "Analise, what's wrong?" "It's just that she's been asking for you." Derric smiles and touches 'Analise' on her arm. "She'll see me and my special guest tonight. I promise. She's going to be three years old." I saw Analise lean and kiss Derric on the cheek. "See you two tonight." I quickly ran to the dorm and acted like I was reading. Our dorm door opened and Derric walked over to me. "What are you reading?" Shit! "I just grabbed it off your desk and started reading it."
