davina
"davina," blue called out as i stomped away from her down the hallway.
"save it blue," i growled, "you refused to apologize for a month. a whole month. you reduced our friendship down to nothing by refusing to apologize for your end of things."
"i sent an owl two weeks ago telling you i was sorry for my part, and saying that all i wanted was for you to apologize. but you ignored me for two more weeks blue! two weeks! i think that proves how little you care about the last three years of friendship."
she grabbed my arm, jolting me around to face her. her eyes were puffy and she had tears streaking down her face. i immediately grab her shoulders lightly, concern spreading through my body.
"blue what the bloody hell is wrong?" i question.
"i'm so sorry it took me so long to come to you," she stutters and cries, "i wanted to apologize the moment you left the quidditch pitch. but i couldn't, you have to believe that i wanted to. i can't lose you davina please."
"wait slow down," i say, "what do you mean you couldn't?"
"it was malfoy," she says, "he threatened to sabatoge all my classes and my quidditch tryouts. and when i came to apologize to you without him knowing crabbe and goyle found out and put a body bind curse on me. he called me a mudblood and threatened to make hogwarts terrible for me."
"you know how important grades are for me. my father's only exception to me coming here is if i maintained good grades so i could have a good career after this. malfoy wanted you to hate me, i guess. he just told me i could apologize, davina this was a month of torture. i'm so so sorry."
i immediately envelope her in a hug, rubbing circles on her back. she lets out a few cries before breathing deeply and attempting to compose herself. i pull away and wipe the tears off of her face.
"i'm sorry blue, i wish i would've listened to you earlier today. i should have known something was wrong. i could never hate you. i was bloody pissed before i knew what was happening, but i could never hate my best friend."
she nods, hugging me again. i brush through her hair, calming her down.
"now, on a more serious matter," i say sternly, "where's malfoy?"
"i assume on his way to the great hall, it's nearly dinner," she replies casually, until i start storming off in that direction, "wait davina, don't do anything irrational."
"oh, it's completely rational," i shout as i race down the hall.
i pass a bunch of students, some giving me wild looks as i angrily search the hallways. i pass the weasley siblings and harry, all of them saying words of concern as i ignore them.
as i reach the entrance to the great hall cedric stands there, eyes lighting up as i approach him.
"hello vina, have a good day?"
"it was fine," i brush off, "have you seen malfoy?"
"no?" he questions, before pointing across from him, "oh wait no, he's headed this way."
i look down the hall, spotting him and his bodygaurds. i cast flipendo quickly at the two of them, sending them flying onto the ground. i then walk over to malfoy, grabbing his collar and raising him slightly off the ground. i notice he has a sling on his arm, but at the moment i don't care.
"hey you filthy blood traitor, watch the arm," he mutters.
"oh your arm won't be the only thing hurt when i'm done with you," i spit.
at this point, students all crowd around us. the gryffindors are cheering me on, while the slytherins shout cruel comments. i ignore both parties, my focus solely on teaching malfoy manners.
"what in the bloody hell are you on about?"
"oh don't play stupid, malfoy," i say, "i know what you did to blue, and let's just call this karma."
"i did what was best for you, and deep down you know that," he snarls, "i got that filthy half blood out of your life, giving you the opportunity to consort with a higher caliber of wizard. of course you chose the blood traitor weaselbees and diggory."
"take it back malfoy," i growl. he remains silent.
i throw him to the ground, punching him in the nose in the process. he shrieks, and blood comes pouring out of his nostrils.
"remember this next time you decide to use your judgment in my life," i snarl, "being a pureblood doesn't make you better than anyone else. that comes with being a good person and treating others with respect. so shove off and find someone else to torture, because i'm done playing your games."
"the weasley's, cedric, and blue are better than you could ever be, so have fun sleeping with that on your conscience malfoy."
"my father will hear about this," he exclaims.
"like i care," i scoff, "you seem to forget that my mother also works for the ministry. on the same level as your father, so i guess we both have some pull in the ministry."
he picks himself off of the ground, motioning for crabbe and goyle to follow him to where i assume is the hospital wing.
students around me cheer as the slytherins storm off, and blue and cedric rush over to me.
"vina what were you thinking?" he exclaims, "you are going to get in so much trouble!"
"oh, so what?" blue shrieks, "you were brilliant. i'm pretty positive you made malfoy piss himself, or almost! he'll likely leave me alone for at least the rest of the year, possibly even the rest of my life!"
"that was the goal," i smile, pulling her into a hug.
"vina, please think about how much trouble you'll get into!"
"oh calm down prefect diggory," blue laughs, "let loose and have fun a little!"
"honestly ced, she's right," i smile, nudging his arm, "if i get detention, it will be worth it. the worst they can do is have me mop the dungeons with filch."
"that sounds wreched," blue shudders.
"ah, nothing we haven't done before," fred says as they walk over to us."
"that was brilliant," george says, "you should be our next prodigy."
i shake my head, "i'll pass, i won't make trouble a regular occurrence."
" well i surely hope not," we hear mcgonagall's voice from behind us, "ms.matthews, please join professor flitwick and i in our journey to professor dumbledore's office. i am quite positive that the headmaster will want to learn of your latest actions."
i sigh, waving goodbye to my friends and following the professors to my punishment.
