"Miles, what the hell are you talking about?" I asked the boy whilst standing to my feet. I held my neck, the pain starting to set in.

He huffed, scowling, "You know exactly what I'm talking about,"

"Oh, you mean Quint?" I raised an eyebrow, beginning to laugh slowly, releasing my grasp on my neck.

Miles scowled heavily at me, god, if looks could kill...

He approached me, causing me to stop laughing and jump backward away from him. I stepped back slowly out of the stable door, heading towards the main exit.

"You won't be laughing once you see what he did to Miss Jessel, Elizabeth," He began, the seriousness in his voice increasing as he continued to speak, "I know you saw her when you got lost in the maze"

I gulped, hard.

Ask him how he knows that!

No, don't, he was clearly stalking you, like he has been since you got here.

I stepped back once again, "H-h-how do you know I saw her?"

He threw half a smirk at me, stepping forward slowly.

Ugh, you're loving this, aren't you?

"It's obvious, you believe it though, don't you? You know they're real and that they're here" His eyebrows raised slightly as he spoke, leaning his head out.

My eyes went wide at his response. He was right and he knew it. I didn't pull my eyes away from his, not even for a second, not trusting what he'd do if I did, I mean, the boy could control me like a marionette.

"You've felt eyes on you since the day you arrived, haven't you?" He paused, stepping towards me once again. I didn't move, my feet were planted to the concrete slabs below me, inches away from the exit, "It was them you could sense"

I snorted at his response.

Tell him how insane he sounds...

No, tell him what you're really thinking...

"Miles, I know you've been stalking me," He frowned at me, "Why to blame it on imaginary shit?"

"Imaginary? Stop lying to yourself, Elizabeth!" He raised his voice.

I smiled at his response.

He's getting angry, you're gonna regret pissing him off.

No, she isn't, he needs to learn to respect her, if she shows him she's not scared even though she is, he'll have to submit to her eventually.

I stepped forward, closing the gap between us. I glanced down at his hand before grazing it with mine.

"Think what you want, Miles," I said in a hushed tone before leaning forward, placing my lips on his neck for a second. I felt him tense, his hand suddenly placed on my waist. I sucked lightly at the area, hearing him exhale down my ear, his warm breath brushing against my neck as he leaned his head on mine.

I pulled away, smirking at him. His face was a picture, a mixture of confusion and comfort.

Without another word from either of us, I spun around, walking over to the exit.

"Wait, you can't just leave," Miles started suddenly, striding over to me, "That's torture for me"

I smirked at his reaction.

"Good," I replied before jogging back to the mansion rather quickly, praying he didn't follow me.
