Jacob and Renesmee: Part 1

Jacob

One minute I'm laying with Nessie in my bed, her little frame underneath my body. The next minute, my dad is calling for me to come out to the kitchen. I look at the clock and it's been two hours since Nessie became all mine.

I look at Nessie. She's the most important person in my life and I would die for this girl laying beside me right now. How did I get so lucky? I don't want to leave her, even if I'm just in the other room.

When I walk in, I'm greeted by Edward sitting at the kitchen table and Bella pacing back and forth with her arms crossed.

"Are you seriously wanting a fight?" Bella asks me. "I feel like you are begging for a fight."

"You know what, Bella? Go ahead and rip me to shreds. I have nothing to say. You knew that eventually this was going to happen. The fact that you are pissed off at me for wanting to be with your daughter is insane! All I want to do is be by her side, treat her the way she deserves to be treated, and protect her with my life. I have no regrets falling in love with Nessie. I'm happier than I have ever been."

"What are you doing here?" Nessie snuggles into my side, yawning.

"Why aren't you in school?" Bella's arms return crossed over her chest.

Nessie looks at me with her chocolate brown eyes and smiles before returning her eyes back to her mom.

"I'm in love with Jacob." She gives me a squeeze. "I couldn't wait any longer."

Bella's angry's face transitions into a motherly love for her daughter. She looks at Edward who gives a faint smile.

"Emmett owes me ten dollars." He gives a small laugh.

"Are you betting on me?" Nessie asks.

"Emmett thought you would last the whole week. I gave you one week not to punish you, but so you could understand what you truly wanted. I knew you loved him. You needed time to figure it out. Your thoughts that night were a complete mess. I'm surprised you didn't go the next day, honestly."

"Nes, we are going home," Nessie tries to interject but Bella keeps going. "We are going home with Jacob, and discussing the rules for you two."

Nessie's face lights up. She let's go of me and hugs her mom, almost knocking her over. Little squeals of joy rush out of her.

"I love you so much." I hear her say to Bella.

"Not as much as I love you."

"I think I have you both beat." I speak up.

Nessie laughs, grabbing my hand. We all say goodbye to my dad, who sounds angry, but I can tell he's happy. I put him back in front of his TV. He will be fine.

Nessie laid her head on my shoulder the whole ride back to their home. She nearly ended up falling asleep before the car came to a jerking stop and we walked to the cottage. Nessie never let go of me. I'll never get tired of this.

"Jacob, do you want anything? I think we still have some coffee left when Charlie comes to visit." Bella asks as Nessie and I sit at the kitchen table.

I put my hand on Nessie's thigh and she loops her arm through mine.

"No, thanks. I'm good."

"I'll take some blood." Nessie says. "I left my tumbler in Seth's vehicle. I hope he gives it back."

Edward gives Nessie her request and leans against the wall. Bella just stares at us, looking uncomfortable.

"Okay, um, I would like to say that even though I knew this day would come at some point, this is very awkward for me considering past events. So first things first, try to keep the kissing in private. I don't want to see you swapping spit with my daughter. Keep doors open at all times. I don't know if you can get pregnant and I don't want to find out the hard way."

"Bella, trust me, I have plans for us. I'm not about to take advantage of sex becasue we are dating now."

Bella closes her eyes and Edward laughs.

"I can't even imagine the thoughts you're trying really hard not to think right now." He says. "Jacob's right. He has something planned very special for her. I approve."

"Okay, next. I'm not ready for a sex talk right now." Nessie shifts in her seat.

"Jacob can't stay past ten on a school night."

"Eleven." Nessie bargains. "He always left at eleven whether I was sleeping or not."

"Fine. But if you both break it, it drops to ten. I will allow him to stay on the weekends as long as you both behave yourselves. Curfew on weekdays will be ten if you are out. If you think you will be late, please call us. I guess I can let weekends go to midnight unless you are at Jacob's house. Edward, do you have anything to add?"

Edward looks at both of us. "Don't break her heart."

"You know that will never happen." I say.

"Yes, but being her dad, I deserve the chance to say that."

Nessie stands and brings her parents both in for a family hug.

"So, can I start calling you dad, now?"

"How many times are you going to ask me that?" Edward looks at me.

"Until you finally say yes or until it actually happens. Whichever comes first."

"So when is our official first date?"

"Hang on there, Renesmee." Bella says. "You're grounded."

"For what?"

"Skipping school. I have to be somewhat of a mom."

"Fine. What's the damage?"

"You have to go hunting with us for a whole month." Edward replies.

Nessie throws her head back and whines. "Please, anything but that!"

"We can turn it into a competition like we used to do."I say standing up.

"What do I get if I win?" Nessie asks.

"Guess you will have to win to find out."

"Deal."
