Dear Diary,

Today was good, I can't stop smiling. I don't even know where to begin but here goes nothing.

Okay so first, people kept telling me that Damien said that I was pretty. At first, I felt like the compliment "pretty" was something a 5th grader would say and the fact that he couldn't say it to me himself was so girly of him.

But then I found a pink little note in the slot of my locker that said,"Pretty' is an understatement. I think the best word to describe you doesn't even exist because you leave people speechless. -Damien"

I wrote back to him and it said,"That was so smooth. For a second, I actually thought you meant that." I stuffed it in locker 37. Locker 37 belonged to the prettiest boy in this school, Damien.

The passing period before 5th, I was walking to my next class and I see him taking long fast strides straight toward me. I took a step back when he got too close.

"That's my locker." he said.

"Oh, right." I replied and stepped out of his way. I was walking away when he grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

"Wait." he demanded and gently placed his hands beside both sides of my head, leaving me trapped between his body and the locker. Although his gaze was warm, I felt very uncomfortable, like he was looking through my flaws. He leaned in close and he whispered in my ear, "I did mean it."

His hot breath stirred my hair a little bit. It felt like my face seeped in the heat from his breath. It was burning hot at this point.

His hands slid down the locker and I turned away as fast as my little body could to hide my smile. I quickly walked to my next class and for the rest of the day, a smile was always pressed on my lips. It never seemed to want to go away, I tried to suppress it but that didn't help. But it's okay, smiling is good right?

Yours truly,

Ella
