"Illumi, dad called, he wants us for a family dinner in half an hour," I yell walking aimlessly through the house. He'll hear me wherever he is, my voice is pretty loud. I love how we can just say dad and know exactly which one we're talking about. In this family, family dinners either mean someone did something or something's about to happen. Hisoka left to see my dad an hour ago so I've just been chilling in my room since. I finally finished the book he got me for my birthday and all I can say is, that author just hurt me for life.
The main character was prepared to sacrifice everything to save the dumbass she grew to love but he messed it up on purpose telling her not to. He dies in her arms while she was sobbing uncontrollably but also cursing him and explaining her love to him. I'm not going to recover from that book anytime soon. So I'll just head down to the bookstore tomorrow to pick up another book to get my mind off of it. At the back of the book was a little note. That idiot has a nicer handwriting than me and I'm envious. It read "There's something familiar about these characters, don't you think?" With a little heart at the end and his signature at the end.
That leads me to one conclusion. He read it before I did. I hadn't noticed till now, but ever since he started hanging out with me he's picked up the habit of reading with me. Even if it's rather explicit ones and ones about wars. He does occasionally slip into an adventure or thriller book with me though. There was a night at the beach house we stayed up and read an entire book together on my balcony. It was a quiet and peaceful night I'll always hold in my memory.
"It would be beneficial to your throat if you'd just use your phone, I'm sure it's been sore more than once this week," Found the bitch. He's standing in the back porch just watching the sunset over the forest. His outfit kinda makes him look different. I've never seen him in tight black jeans and a black t-shirt.
"What's got your panties in a bunch?" Standing next to him, I take the glass of whiskey from him and drink it. He pulls me into his side and wraps one arm around me. Taking my free hand, I wrap it around his back. He takes back the glass and I wrap my other hand around him. "Hey, do you think we'd ever be able to live a normal life?" The question just slips out randomly.
"This is normal for us, however, if you mean normal as a regular person, we wouldn't have the slightest idea of how to occupy our time," He finishes his drink and sets the glass down on the table beside him.
"Yeah, you have a point," We just stand there watching as the sun sets over the horizon completely forgetting the family dinner. Not wanting to get scolded for being late, I throw on a pair of simple black leggings with a white oversized sweater. Illumi seems to have the same idea as me since he just threw on a hoodie over his shirt. I portal us into the Zoldyck's dining room, in the nick of time no less.
Everyone's already here, Kikyo, Milluki, dad, dad grandpa, and Hisoka. Illumi and I hurriedly walk behind our chairs and await grandpa's okay. It's a family tradition. The eldest member of the house sits first and then everyone else does.
Even a blind man could tell that Hisoka's burning his eyes into my clothes. I can literally hear him making that seductive mmmm sound and licking his lips. I know if I only meet his gaze I'll melt. The only downfall I have when I'm around him. It does irritate me a bit I won't lie, but I do still like it. It is quite hard to keep my eyes off him myself. A plain white t-shirt and black jeans with his hair slicked back like it usually is. I just hope my staring isn't too obvious. His muscles and chest are literally evident under that t-shirt.
Grandpa sits and the rest of us pull our chairs out and sit in silence. There has yet to be one family dinner to exist where we actually finish a meal without a fight breaking out. I'm not holding my breath on this one. Picking at my food with the fork, my mind wanders back to Rin. Something doesn't add up to me. He says he hasn't seen me since the first time he held me as a baby, then why do I know he has a bunny birthmark behind his ear?
