"Hisoka?" I softly call touching his shoulder. He stirs for a bit then hums. "Can I stay with you tonight? I can't sleep." He shifts around and pulls me onto the bed next to him wrapping his arm around me, all with his eyes still closed.
"All you had to do was climb in love." His voice comes out like a low growl. He rests his head against mines, falling back asleep. Resting my head against his cold bare chest, I find myself falling asleep within moments. This is against everything I know as an assassin, but as a regular human, it feels so right.
The early morning sun pours through the window waking me from my sleep. My eyes unwilling open, meeting golden orbs staring back to me.
"Again with the staring." My voice comes out soft but raspy.
"You're one to talk, you've been drooling on me." He chuckles. I jolt up wiping away the drool from both on him and my face with the sleeve of my sweater.
"Sorry." Embarrassment isn't quite the word to describe the feeling turning in my stomach. He pulls me to lie on top of his chest
"Don't apologize. Now, what do we have to do today?" Honestly, nothing. I usually leave putting together for the last week. The staff is coming as well so they'll oversee food and placement. The only thing I have to do really is make sure the large dining table by the beach is intact and clean up.
"Not one thing. You and Illumi are free to do whatever you want." His grip tightens around my waist.
"How about a little sparring?" I don't think I've ever actually fought Hisoka. We've jokingly and sometimes seriously threatened each other with weapons or in other cases he's tackling me against some kind of surface. But past that, I've never been in a situation where it's me against him.
"Sure. Why not. " The smile on his face widens. "We should probably shower first, you have serious morning breath. Meet me on the beach in half an hour." I joke climbing off of him. I exit his room and head upstairs to mine. I stop at Illumi's door to check on him and Mizuki, but it seems they left already. I wonder where they went. They'll probably be back soon.
One shower later, I throw on a white halter neck bikini top and some black and white beach shorts over the bikini bottoms. Might as well go for a little swim after. Besides I'm on a private beach where it's always sunny and hot, why not wear the minimal amount of clothes possible.
As I walk to the back porch, I put my hair up in a bun. Something feels off. The chairs are slightly moved from when we left them and the cushions are also misplaced. It's not the wind, everything here is made to remain the same place as it was put, even up against winds and storms.
"Something wrong?" Hisoka's voice comes up behind me. Seems he had the same idea as me. He's in a pair of white shorts alone. Man, I hope he doesn't realize I'm staring at him. Like damn. How even?
"I don't know. Something feels off to me. Did Illumi say anything when he left?" I snap back to reality.
"You mean he isn't sleeping?" Something's most definitely wrong. Illumi wouldn't leave without a text or letting one of us know he's off. Mizuki! That's right I share a telepathic link to her.
Mizuki? Mizuki?! I call out to her but no response. This can't be good. Okay, she's with Illumi, that much I'm sure of. She's been stuck to him for the past few days. The more troubling question is where the fuck Illumi could have gone. The guy's an assassin. Finding traces of him could be near impossible. Unless... When lightning hits the ground, it travels through that substance. I could use that to my advantage and look for any abnormalities in the sand that may have been left by Illumi.
Channeling the lightning through my whole body bringing it to my feet letting it flow through the sand. The vibrations the lightning gives off, shows me every little shift there is. There. Close to the rocky mountains on the eastern side.
