Emelia

"You don't think it exposes too much skin do you?" Emelia pressed her hand against her chest, her skin meeting the see-through fabric that rested there. The cut was low, running in an arrow like shape until it stopped right above her belly button. The blue fabric felt amazing on her, something that she found unusual.

"Absolutely not. It's perfect, Emelia. The blue looks nice with your hair and it's formal enough."

"What if I trip? The dress goes to the floor. On top of that, I've never worn heels before. Faye I can't do this," Emelia shook her head, reaching her hand up to start ridding herself of the fabric.

Faye's hand gripped hers, "You can and you will, Emelia. If you are going to be Luna of this pack you'll need to find confidence in yourself," the alpha's sister met Emelia's gaze in the mirror, "You look beautiful."

"Fine," Emelia grumbled. Faye laughed at her childlike reaction and turned when she heard movement at the end of the hall, "Damien is coming."

Emelia nodded, running her hands over her side, which were also only adorned in transparent material. The blonde had no knowledge of formal attire, so she hadn't an idea if it looks right on her. Faye tried to convince her it was perfect, but she didn't like the feeling of her thighs touching.

The door opened slowly and Emelia watched as Faye fled, revealing Damien in the threshold. He stood there, not making any advancement towards her, as his eyes ran over her body. Emelia watched him analyze her from the mirror and when their eyes met, she turned around, blushing. She let her curled hair cover her face, trying to hide the redness.

"You look stunning, Emelia," the sound of her name on his lips made her hair stand on end.

"You don't look so bad yourself," and it was the truth. The grey suit he was adorned in must have cost him more than Emelia's house, but in her secret opinion it was worth the investment.

"Come. We need to leave."

Emelia followed him, slipping her arm around his bicep. When he looked down at her in surprise, she explained, "I've never walked in shoes this tall before. I'll probably trip over the dress at least twenty times tonight. I need something to lean on."

"Don't worry, little one. I'll catch you if you fall," his amused smirk angered her and melted her heart at the same time.

"I don't need anyone to catch me, Damien," she tried to correct him.

"Tell that to your wobbly ankles."

Emelia shot him a glare as he chuckled to himself, "Three years of mastering the art of balance and one pair of shoes fucks me all up," she whispered to herself. Damien remained silent, helping her down the stairs slowly until they reached the front door. The beta waited outside, making sure everything went smoothly for the couple's departure.

"Colten, we won't be gone long. We are just going to eat and mingle for a couple hours," Colten nodded at his superior, smiling at Emelia as he took in the sight of her.

"You look wonderful, Emelia," he complimented. Damien's chest let out a soft growl, which he meant to keep detained. Emelia sent him an angry look and attempted to untangle herself from him, but he held her tighter.

They made their way to the car where a man was holding the door open. Emelia was assisted inside and Damien slid in after her, secretly taking a moment longer to rake his eyes over her body again.
