Damien
Emelia was cuddled up on the couch in his office, reading a book that she had found on one of the bookshelves. Damien looked over to her, a small smile on his face seeing her be so comfortable in his company. He turned his attention back to the paperwork on his desk when the door burst open. Damien’s first thought was for Emelia, but when he noticed it was Marcus, his gamma, he relaxed a bit.
“Alpha, you need to come quick. There are people outside the front gates. A lot of them,” he was breathing heavily. Damien looked to Emelia who was already standing and making her way over to the general of the warriors.
“Are they humans?” She pulled on her boots and grabbed her jacket.
“Yes.”
“How many in estimation?” Her arms slipped through the sleeves with ease. Damien stood.
“You’re not going out there, Emelia. It’s too dangerous. If they are looking for a fight, one may or may not break out and I sure as hell don’t want you in the middle of it,” the wolf met his mate’s eyes as they rolled.
“For the last time I can protect myself,” she turned to Marcus, “Take me to them.”
“Damn it, Emelia. Listen to me. You aren’t going out there,” Damien growled.
“No, you listen. They want me. The sole purpose of them being here is because you kidnapped me. If I don’t go out there and show them I’m not hurt, then there will be a fight. I know my people. So, General, how many?”
The man looked to his alpha while he nodded, allowing the gamma to share the information, “About seventy. Maybe more.”
Emelia nodded, storming out of the office. The two men followed after her, not having any other options. She ran down the stairs and threw open the front door, revealing the scene.
It was a shock to Damien, even though he had been informed there were a lot of people. They all held weapons, but none were aimed until the three stepped into the daylight.
“That’s the king!” Someone shouted. The wolf guards stepped in front of them, attempting to block their view.
“Emelia!” A woman’s voice broke through all the rest and Emelia’s head whipped to see who it came from. Nearing the gate already, she broke into a sprint. Damien ran after her, not liking the increasing distance between them. More of the Blade members started to scream, taking the alpha’s action as one of malice.
“Regn?” Emelia yelled, causing many people to simmer down. A red-headed woman that Damien recognized found her way to the front of the line.
“Emelia. Thank fuck you’re okay,” her eyes moved to Damien and she immediately went for her gun.
“No. Regn, stop. It’s alright,” Emelia held out her hands to stop her friend from hurting her mate.
“What do you mean it’s alright? This wolf almost killed me to kidnap you. Both are things that don’t qualify as alright!” The ginger snapped.
Emelia looked back to the alpha with sad eyes. He was only a few centimeters from her, so he could see that she was holding back tears with a clenched jaw.
