Abducted!

Part 9: Recovery

•Kelly's pov•
       I couldn't believe what i just saw, Hank shot Mike right in the leg. He was about to kill my Harper and then boom, he falls to the ground wincing in pain.

       "Daddy!" Harper cried out. I ran to her and picked her up. "Oh my gosh, i'm so happy to see you, you okay? where does it hurt?" i asked, she was bleeding from the head and had bruises all over. As long as i had her in my arms i was fine. "My head hurts dad" she said, she was getting weaker but i was never putting her back down, i may not let her leave my sight again until she's 30.

         "It's okay, the ambulance is on the way" i said as i hugged her and stroked her long blonde hair. She had a really tight grip on me that's for sure.

       "Kelly watch out!" Jay yelled. I seen Mike pick up the gun again and i quickly covered Harper with my protective body. "BANG".

       I felt something stab into my back. it hurt but the bullet hit my vest go it would only leave a bruise.

       "Bang" another gunshot. Antonio shot Mike again in the shoulder, he'd stay alive because the bullet didn't hit anything major.

        "When you gonna learn to leave them alone?" Antonio said which made Harper giggle. "Oh you thought that was funny missy?" Antonio said laughing. Harper kept giggling at her uncle.

        "Come on kiddo, ambulance is here". i said as i tried to put her down. she tightened her grip and wouldn't let go. "No, No,No, don't leave me" she cried. "Hey it's okay, i'll carry you, i'm not going to leave you i promise" i said comforting her. She sunk her head into my shoulder as we walked.

       "Come her kid, we need to look at you." one of the paramedics said. It wasn't Gabby or Brett, they were off shift by now. Harper wouldn't let go of my neck. "hey munchkin, you got to let the doctor look at that head injury and make sure it's nothing serious" "i don't want to leave you, please don't leave me!" "I'm not going to leave you, i'll be right here by you the whole time, look at me for a second." she slowly lifted her head up and you could see all the bruises and cuts. this pissed me off to the max. "Nobody will ever hurt you ever again, I promise i will protect you" i said. She looked at me and i slowly put her on the gurney. "That's a nasty gash there kiddo" the paramedic said. "You're one brave kid" she added. "The bravest" i said and smiled at her.
