~7 years later~
"JJ!" I shouted, jolting awake.
I was covered in a thin layer of sweat and my breathing was jagged. Seven years later and I still thought of him, so much to the point where he haunted my dreams. At this point I was convinced I’d never get over him. My clock read 5:45am. Time to get up anyway.
~JJ’s POV~
"So you think you found her?" I asked the detective I had hired to look for Lucy.
"The only Lucy I could find with the information you provided me lives in Nashville. However the girl I photographed doesn’t look like the picture you gave me." He said handing me the picture.
I was thinking well no she’s not going to look the same because its been seven years but I held my tongue. I looked over the picture and he was right she didn’t look the same, she looked better.
"It’s her." I said still staring at the picture of the only girl I’ve ever loved.
"Here’s all the info I could find. Her parents divorced six years ago after a lengthy court battle for her to gain control of her own affairs. Her father remarried four years ago. Mother died three years ago. She seems pretty close with her stepmother and younger stepsister. She’s an executive assistant at her father’s record label he started after the divorce. She graduated top of her class with a degree in business management. She’s single, no kids." He told me as he handed me an envelope.
"What’s this?" I asked
"Her address." He said simply.
I stared at the envelope for a few minutes. I could go see her now. Once the realization wore off I thanked the detective and headed home. Already planning my trip to see her. I knew I had a game coming up against the Titans in a couple of weeks. Maybe I’d "drop" by and see her then.
~Lucy’s POV~
So far every night for the past two weeks I dreamed of JJ. It wasn’t uncommon for me to dream of him but it was becoming more frequent and to the point where I was losing sleep. At least today was Friday and I was off work for the next few days due to remodels in the offices. I could hopefully sleep in a little bit after another sleepless night dreaming of him. I fell back asleep and woke up to a knock on my door. I looked at my clock and it now read noon. Crap. I slept a lot longer than I planned. I quickly threw on a pair of sweat pants and grey Vols hoodie. I threw my bed head hair into a messy bun at the top of my head and scrambled to the door when whoever knocked again.
"I’m coming!" I shouted.
JJ’s POV
I waited nervously on her step after I knocked for the first time. I looked back at my friends who gave me a thumbs up. I knocked once more just in case she didn’t hear me and I heard her voice say that she was coming. My palms started to sweat and my heart started racing, just from knowing I was going to see her again.
