Something Unexpected

Chapter 2

2 weeks later

Kara P.O.V

While I am beyond excited to have Sienna over for the summer, I can't help but be a bit worried. My family and members of the "camp" or pack as that is what they are, have a secret. A secret that no human can know of, which is drum roll please, a werewolf. Yes we are real, not a fairy tale like Sienna thinks. My pack is well aware of the attacks that have been happening. There have been more and more rogue sightings and while my pack and others have tried to stop the rogue problem more and more keep appearing. And the problem is we don't know why. It is an even bigger problem with the fact that they are attacking humans, so now humans around the area are terrified and are trying to find an explanation of why huge wolves are around and how to prevent further attacks.

I knew when I asked her if she would come to the "camp" she would be interested because of how secretive I am about my home. I feel bad for always blowing her off but for obvious reasons she couldn't know where I lived for safety reasons. I also figured her staying with us and being surrounded by a bunch of wolves would ensure she would be safe. I can't help but be worried about my best friend. I knew my brother would never be on board so that is why I didn't inform him until yesterday. I'm his baby sister so I know he couldn't be mad at me.

"Sienna, I don't know about you but I am so glad school is finally over for the year" I say with a smile.

"Uh yeah, I don't know how much more my brain could take" Sienna replies with a refreshed sigh.

"All right, so do you have everything packed that you want to bring? Your room is all set up and ready for you. This is going to be so much fun!" At least for us, my brother wasn't too happy that I invited Sienna without talking to him about it first.

"Yeah! I just need to go back home and double check I have everything. I should be around at your place in a few hours, so about four."

"Okay that works, I will see you at four then!" I say with a smile.

I watch as Sienna drives off in her car, and I think about the conversation I had with my brother yesterday.

Flashback to yesterday

I walk down the long hall of the fourth floor to my brother's office. The fourth floor contains my room, his room, and a few extra bedrooms. Our parents used to use one of the rooms but they had a house built on our land so they could have more privacy. They did this once my dad stepped down as Alpha and passed the title down to my brother. As I make my way down the hall I finally find myself in front of the Alpha's door and knock.

"Come in" I hear him call from the other side.

I peek my head in "Hey there my favorite brother in the whole world".

My brother raises an eyebrow at me "What did you do now Kara?"

"Nothing much" I reply with a smile.

My brother Noah is a few years old then I am so he is twenty-three. He stands at about six foot, he has deep blue greyish eyes, and shares the same light brown hair as me except his is a bit more wavy than mine. He has my mother's eyes, while I have my father's. And we both have a slightly tanned skin tone. My brother and I are very close, he is also very protective of me. I barely ever get to go out sometimes. I know he wants me to be safe but seriously wherever his mate is she needs to meet him so he can focus on something else rather than wanting to know about my whereabouts especially right now with the rogues. Ah mates, something the moon goddess planned. They are basically our soulmates and once you meet your mate it's like you can't live without them. I have yet to meet mine, but I still have time. Once wolves turned eighteen were able to find our mates. Some are lucky and find them right away or some are like me and it takes longer. I thought by now at the age of twenty I would have found him since I sometimes go with my brother to Alpha meetings that are at other packs. My brother sadly hasn't found his mate yet either, but he is patiently waiting. I will say that I got lucky to have a brother who doesn't mess around with girls. Some of the girls in our pack like to throw themselves at him but he rejects them. I wonder at times if he will give up and have a chosen mate. They say a pack is stronger with a Luna because she makes the Alpha stronger and she completes the pack.
