Something Unexpected

Chapter 9

When I eventually woke up it was around eleven in the morning. Mason came by and dropped off some lunch for me. I could see the pity in his eyes. He tried to cheer me up the best he could. It helped for a second, but I was still too upset over everything that had happened in the past twenty four hours. Eventually Mason had to get back to his Beta duties as he had to prepare with Noah for the Alpha meeting coming up in a couple weeks. I decided that staying in Noah's room was making me feel down even more. So I decided to head back to my room. I walked in my bathroom and closed the door. I striped from the clothes I was wearing, it was definitely a day for a nice, long, hot shower. I stood in the shower as the warm water rinses off all the soap and shampoo, but it can't rinse off the guilt I feel.

I dry off and go in my closet to throw on sweatpants and one of Noah's t-shirts. It was way too big for me, but it smelled like him which comforted me. I sat down on the edge of my bed deciding if I wanted to sulk around all day in my room or maybe find Kara. But I had a better idea, I'm going somewhere that no one really goes to. I finish walking down the pebble stone path and find my way sitting on the same little white bench Noah and I sat on after our first date. This place is really relaxing, I get the overwhelming feeling that everything will be okay. I close my eyes, taking a deep breath. I can smell the fresh grass, the aroma of flowers, and the crisp water from the fountain. I can feel the slight breeze dance on my skin while the warmth from the sun keeps me from getting a chill. I can hear the soothing sound of water from the fountain, birds chirping in the air, tree branches swaying making their leaves shake. I can hear the-

"Sienna?" I slowly open my eyes knowing who that voice belongs to.

My eyes tear up at the sight of him. His hair is slightly disheveled with dark circles under his eyes. He looks like he has been up all night. He sits next to me while pulling me into a tight hug. I try to blink away the tears but they keep streaming down my face as he rubs my back trying to calm me down.

"Kara talked to me, she told me everything. I'm so sorry I didn't listen to what you were trying to tell me. My wolf and I were angry and I needed to cool off before we could talk" Noah says. I pull away from the hug and grab his hands while looking at him in his eyes.

"I know Kara already told you, but I want to tell you again. Cody is just a friend and I went there to try and help him. That was the last time I was going to meet him at that spot. Mark, Cody's father, grabbed him and left when you and his men shifted" I rushed out.

"Sienna I understand. You have such a big heart, but you also need to be careful. As my Luna, people will want to use you to get to me. And I will not allow that to happen. For you I will see what I can do to help Cody. As it seems he may be innocent in all of this, but we can't be certain as his father seems to be the leader of the rogues. But Sienna please just promise me you won't keep anymore secrets from me"

"I promise" I say snuggling into his warm chest.

"How did you know where I was? You came at the perfect time" I ask

"One of my patrolmen saw you in the distance and followed, when he caught up to you he saw all the rogues and mindlinked me. If he didn't see you I don't want to think about what could have happened to you" he says as his fists ball up and his eyes flicker between his beautiful ones to black. I place my hands on either side of his face making him look at me.

"Don't think about it, because nothing did happen. Nor will it ever happen. In fact I was thinking instead of having a guard outside my door at night I could maybe move in your room? That way I'll be with you" I say with a smile which Noah returns.

"I think that's a great idea," he says, kissing me tenderly.

"I love you" I say looking at him.

"I love you too," Noah says with loving eyes.

Two weeks later

A couple weeks have gone by and my relationship with Noah has grown even more and become much more stronger. I moved my things to his room, or now our room. So now I get to snuggle into his warm chest every night. Today and tomorrow four Alpha's of neighboring packs will be arriving today and tomorrow for the meeting. Noah also made it very clear to me that I was either to stay by him, Mason, or Kara and his mom while the Alphas are here. Apparently a couple of the Alpha's are unmated and he doesn't want to risk them getting too close. Protective as ever haha. Alpha Brady from the Moon Valley Pack, his pack has had a human mate a long time ago. He had offered to give us more information since there is not much out there. He is also good friends with Noah, as well as Alpha Cater. Alpha Carter is Alpha of the White Claw Pack. Alpha Carter wanted to bring his Luna so her and I could bond but it was decided that both Alpha Brady and Carter's Lunas stay back in their packs for safety. The other two Alphas are Alpha Sebastian of the Windcrest Pack and Alpha Warren of the Dust Howlers Pack. I guess Noah and Alpha Warren have had some tension in the past, but with the current situation everyone is ready to work together.

At about three o'clock in the afternoon Alpha Brady had arrived. Noah and I went down to greet him. He looked to be a little bit older than Noah and seemed really mature for his age. He and Noah catch up in his office for a bit before Noah called me on the phone and asked me to come into the office. I walked into the office and stood by Noah which in instinct pulled me in his lap while nodding for Alpha Brady to start speaking.

"Sienna, I'm sure Noah has mentioned that in my pack years ago there was a human mate. The human was actually my great grandmother. But you see there is a reason why there is not a lot of information on human mates, and it's not only because they are so rare" Noah holds me closer and asks "Why is that? What's the real reason?"

"My great grandmother was mated to an Alpha so she was one of the few in history to shift after being marked. But once she shifted a special gift also appeared. Some enemies at the time found out and sought out to claim her as their mate and Luna. Only certain people know of this information"

"What was her gift?" I ask, curious. Alpha Brady smiles.

"She was able to see glimpses into the future. Her gift saved many lives in my pack. If there was trouble she was able to let the pack know ahead of time which protected us in more ways that we can count".

'Will I have the same gift?" I ask

"I don't know honestly, it could be different. We would just have to wait and see if you shift after being marked" Alpha Brady says.

"How did she learn about her gift?" I ask

"She had always said it just happened randomly. Just going about her day and the quick vision popped in her head" Alpha Brady states.

" Noah had filled me in on Mark and the rogues beforehand, Sienna if Mark knows this information there's no doubt in my mind he will try to come after you" Alpha Brady says as a deep growl erupts from Noah. I place my hand on his rubbing it, trying to calm him.

"Did her gift pass down to the next generations?"

"Not that I know of, no one that descended from her and my great grandfather has ever experienced that gift" Alpha Brady says. "But you do bring a good point, Mark m-"

"May want her thinking if he uses her to have pups they'll have the same gift" Noah interrupts angrily.

"Precisely" Alpha Brady says with concern filled eyes.

"Thank you Alpha Brady for all the information, I feel slightly better knowing what kind of situation we're in" I say with a soft smile.

"Yes, thank you Brady. We will keep this to ourselves as a precaution" Noah says. Brady nods.

A knock brings our attention to the door. "Come in," Noah says in a strong voice. Hot.

"Sorry to interrupt Alpha, but Alpha Carter and Sebastian have arrived," Mason says.

"Alright well we better get down there and greet them" Noah says. With that all four of us make our way downstairs and greet our guests.
