Reika Namikaze is a lost and broken soul, but more importantly, she is the immortal soul. But does that mean that being the immortal soul is who she is?

'I mean, just who am I?' Nothing. Not a peep. She knows he is still there because she is still alive, but she cannot sense his presence at all, and that scares her. 'Kurama?' The familiar hum he used to give is gone. He is gone.

She ponders if maybe he is just in his physical form, and that gives her some relief. Hope. 'Maybe he is just not connected at the moment, but if that is so, then where is he?'

That thought process is what scared her the most, not the torture nor being in a cave structure filled with s rank criminals.

"Hn." That painfully familiar voice of one Itachi Uchiha spoke up. Reika peaked an eye open from her meditation position to give him her attention. "You are to join the Akatsuki."

Reika realized that she is in the original timeline of the Naruto franchise and has been weighing her odds. She rose a brow in question.

He responded with a deadpan look. She closed her eyes taking a breath in before she spoke, her voice void of any emotion. "Don't wanna."

He sighed. "Why not?" He didn't want to admit it, but he was genuinely curious as to why she won't join.

She tilted her head. "Don't belong."

'What?' Her answers were always short, blunt and to the point, yes, but this answer seemed a bit more cryptic. Like she is saying she doesn't belong here. But that could mean anything, so are all of her answers gonna be so puzzling?

"You don't belong here?" He asked.

"No. I want home." She whispered, her eyes lowering as if she is lost.

"Where is home?"

"Who is home, I want home."

'So home is a person?' "Hn." He paused as he repeated his question, "Who is home?"

She looked up, a flash of love passing in her eyes but was gone so quickly. "He is not here."

She closed her eyes. "He is not of this world."

Something foreign passed through Itachi's eyes that he could not recognize anymore. It was empathy and understanding. '"Not of this world" could be a defense mechanism of hers to say he is no longer alive.' He thought solemnly.

"I want. Home." She repeated bringing herself in the fetal position hugging her knees.

Meanwhile in Konoha....

"Hey, Sasuke!" A blonde hyperactive boy with eyes as blue as the seas and whisker marks adjourning his facial features yelled enthusiastically at his raven-headed teammate.

"Hn" was all the boy said as he ignored the blonde.

"Okay, teme, it's about time I put you in your place, dattebayo!" The said Sasuke glared at the blonde, but before anything else could happen, A certain male with silver gravity-defying hair and a mask to cover his face showed up.

"Ma, ma, you two need to meet the Hokage in his office." That was all he said as he had poofed away to find the third teammate.

They both wondered if it had to do with that fox they had found the other day that was barely alive.

______________

'Kurama, help.' Reika was tired. She was so tired and hungry, but she refused to join. They were starving her and refusing to give her water so she would rethink joining.
